Constance's POV

***

A sliver of light breaks through the darkness that stands in front of me. I hear muffled voices and someone arguing. I look at the sliver of light and walk closer, trying to look through. I reach out and my hands try to pry the hole open. Just as the hole is starting to get bigger some sort of force slams it shut. "No no no!" I scream, feeling around for anything to pull the hole open again.

"Constance?" I hear someone say from behind the blackness, "Are you still in there? Can you hear me?"

"Yes I can hear you!" I yell back, not sure if this person can hear me.

I feel hands pressing onto the black wall in front of me. Suddenly a burst of light comes through as the hole is reopened. I force myself to keep the hole open as the hands are removed. In front of me is a white room with a woman standing in a white nurses uniform. I turn to my left and I find my uncle staring at me with true disbelief.

"Uncle Eli?" I question, "What are you doing here? How did you know I was here?"

"Tyler called me, that's a nice boy you got there," he responds before pulling me into a hug.

I wrap my arms around him and breathe in the incense off his jacket that my aunt is always burning.

"I'm so happy to see you! I missed you," I exclaim, "Is he here, is Ty here?"

"No honey, he hasn't been here for a few days, I'm assuming he went home."

I pull away from my uncle and look at him, confused. "No that doesn't make sense. I mean Ty loves me, he wouldn't not come back to see if I'm awake."

"Yeah I know he loves you honey, he told me all about it on the phone when he called to tell me what happened. I can't believe the adventure you had and I didn't even know about it because there were two of you."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just didn't think you would understand."

"You know I probably wouldn't have," he laughs.

"I know I just woke up from a chance of death but I need to see Ty, do you think you could take me to the Xena headquarters?"

He agrees to take me but as long as I call my aunt in the car as she has been worrying about me as well. In the car I assure my aunt that I am fine and I will be home as soon as I see Ty and I promise that I will eventually bring him to meet her.

We finally reach the headquarters and I rush inside looking for Ty. I sprint up the stairs to his room and burst through his door. "Ty, I'm awake!" I announce.

I look around his room but he is no where to be found. I leave his room to go find Cain. He is in his office filling out some papers when I rush through the door. "Cain! Have you seen Ty?"

"Oh Constance you're awake! I'm so glad to see you up and about!"

He stands up and starts to come toward me, reaching for a hug. I let him embrace me for a few seconds before releasing him and getting back to business, "Yeah yeah it's great but I really need to find Ty, according to my dad he hasn't been to the hospital in a few days."

Cain looks confused saying that Ty hasn't been back at the house either. The last time he saw him was the day that my dad came to see me at the hospital. I thank him and go back to the car where my dad is waiting. "I don't know where he could be, he wouldn't just disappear like that," I state, defeated.

Tyler's POV

The bag is removed from my head and I find myself face to face with a man with black hair and brown eyes. He's wearing a black cloak that looks somewhat familiar. "Hello Tyler," the man say, looking at me with a look I can't read, "Remember me?"

I feel a pain in my chest and I fall to my knees. I only know of one other person who has this power. I piece the clues together in my head and realize, this is the man that hired Leon to capture me before! He's back again, seriously!

"Yes I'm back again!" the man says, interrupting my thoughts, "You think you bested me by escaping me last time? Think again, because this time I'll be watching you personally."

I roll my eyes and stand up before glaring at the man before me. "It's a shame you don't have your little helper man, Leon. We took him away from you."

"True that was a bit of a setback but you don't understand how many people will help you when they think they're gaining the power to read minds and control death."

"Well you already have the power to control death so I don't know why you want to read minds as well."

"It's the race for ultimate power, something you obviously don't understand."

Apparently the man became bored with this conversation because he turns away from me and walks over to a machine in the corner of the room. He picks up a headpiece with tons of wires snaking around the earpieces and head. "Do you know what this is?" he questions.

"Looks like a stupid hat, would never go into style," I respond, sarcastically.

He rolls his eyes at me before going back to turning on the machine. After pushing a blue button, the machine whirrs to life. The wires on the headpiece light up and buzz along with the machine. I feel another pain in my chest and he tells me to walk over to the chair in the middle of the room. He walks over to where I am sitting and fastens my arms to the chair so I can't escape. He places the headpiece on my head as I struggle to move my head away, but being tied up doesn't really help with that. "This may hurt a bit," he warns before pressing the green button on the machine.

Hurt a bit my ass, it feels like my head is being ripped into a million pieces. The last thing I remember is the man smiling at me before I black out.
