(Teddy Lupin - 16 yrs old)
'I love you, Victoire'
'I love you too, Teddy'
Teddy looked at his girlfriend loving and stroked her long blonde hair. Yes she was younger than him but that didn't matter. Seeing as he wasn't actually related to her, it didn't matter that he was practically her uncle's son. He kissed her softly on the cheek and said, 'I have to go, Harry will be wanting me home.'
Victoire mumbled something incoherent and Teddy chuckled. He glanced at his watch and was shocked to see that it was already midnight. He had spent the evening at a restaurant with Victoire but had expected to be home long before this but they had got...waylaid.
He kissed her again softly and moaned as she tried to deepen the kiss but pulled away, knowing that Ginny would be fretting about his lateness. He walked her down the road to her house and said goodbye. When she was safely inside he flung out his wand arm for the Knight Bus, having already agreed with Harry to take the bus home as they lived quite a way away from Victoire's house and he didn't fancy walking and couldn't apparate.
The bus zoomed into existence in front of him and he climbed aboard and payed for his ticket.
'Hey Zach' he greeted the bus attendant, a friend from school who was working on the bus during the summer to earn some extra money.
'Alright Teddy' He grinned. 'Bit late to be out, isn't it, or have you been busy?' Zach wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
'Oh shut up and take me home' Teddy moaned, flopping onto one of the beds.
'Right oh' Zach replied. 'Yours is the next stop anyway.'
BANG
Teddy said goodbye to Zach and jumped off the bus. He sauntered down the front path to his house in Godric's Hollow, where he lived with Harry, Ginny, James, Albus and Lily Potter. He was home two hours later than he said he would be and he knew he would be in for it if he was caught. Therefore, he vaulted over the garden fence and slipped open the back door. He tip-toed through the dark kitchen and had his foot on the first stair when the light flicked on. There stood Ginny and Harry. Neither of them looked at all pleased.
'TEDDY REMUS LUP-' Ginny began but Harry cut her off.
'Go and sit down love, I'll deal with this.'
Ginny humphed and stormed into the living room. Harry turned to Teddy with dark eyes and Teddy gulped. This was not the happy, funny father and best mate, but the angry, headstrong man who had defeated Voldemort.
'Explain yourslef' he said coldly.
'I, er, I lost, um, lost track of time?' Teddy supplied, anxiously pulling on his hair, which was bright pink.
'Lost track of time' Harry breathed. 'You were supposed to be back over two hours ago! Do you know how worried we've been?' Harry yelled at the cowering teenager.
Suddenly Teddy felt anger boiling beneath his skin. What right did Harry have to treat him like this? They weren't even realted. And Teddy was 16 now, he could look after himself - it wasn't his fault that they were worried.
'You're not my father Potter' Teddy yelled back at him. 'You can't tell me what to do!'
By this point, man and boy were nose to nose and to his shock Teddy saw tears in the older man's eyes.
'You're right' Harry said in a shaking voice. 'He died protecting you and gave you into my care. I am your god father and it is my duty to look after you. I love you like a son, and I hoped that that would be enough.'
Harry stared at the boy who had his father's wolfish good looks and the bright pink hair that his mother had so loved and felt a lump in his throat. He turned on his heel and left the room, leaving a horrified Teddy standing on his own in the hallway.
Suddenly, Teddy heard footsteps on the stairs and saw the bright red hair of Lily Potter.
'What's all the shouting for?' she asked sleepily. She looked up at the boy who acted like her big brother, just as much as James and Albus, and took in his shocked expression, the tears tracing his cheeks and the distraught in his eyes. She ran forwards and hugged him tightly around the waist, until a shaking Teddy hugged her back.
'What have I done?' He whispered in her ear, but she couldn't answer.
'Go back to bed Lily' he said softly. 'Don't worry, I'll make things right.'
He watched the young girl traipse back upstairs to bed and walked heavily into the living room, where Harry was holding a crying Ginny. Teddy cleared his throat and the pair looked up.
'I'm sorry' he began. 'I shouldn't have said that, I love you both so mu-' but he was interrupted by Ginny, who threw her arms around the boy and hugged him so tightly that he could barely breath.
'We love you too' Harry said, as he joined the hug. They stood there for a moment until Ginny asked, 'so why are you back so late?'
Teddy blushed bright red and mumbled, 'I was talking to Victoire'
When the couple had realised what he had said, Harry let out a hearty laugh and Ginny giggled until more tears poured down her cheeks. Teddy couldn't help but grin at the sight of his family.
