Vlad and I bury Charlie and lay some flowers down. "Dad, I know you can't hear me but I wanted to say some things that I never got to tell you face to face. First, I'm a vampire. Not like the ones from the movies. I do kill but I would never hurt you. Second, I wish that I could've protected you from all this. I tried protecting mum as well and I will never let anything happen to her. I want you to know that you will always be with me." I pull out his police badge and smile down at it. "I love you dad. Forever." I place my hand on the grave and say goodbye. Vlad and I start to walk towards the car to leave when I hear my phone go off. I look at the screen.
"Our flight leaves in 20 minutes." I say to Vlad.
"Ok. We'll be there in 10." He smiles and so do I. We get in the car and start to drive to the airport.
"Do you think they'll find us?" I ask Vlad.
"Eventually, but we will be ready." Vlad replies. I look out the window and watch the gloomy town of Forks go past. I will eventually come back, to visit my dad, to see my friends. But that won't be for a long time. Who knows how long that will be. But all I have is time, lots and lots of time.
