It was several days after Halloween, most of the neighborhood still decorated with cheap paper ghosts, plastic tombstones, and rotting pumpkins. The Rallison twins refuse to take off their Spider-Man and Hulk costumes and sneaked candy during the night, it wasn't like anyone was there to stop them. It was the middle of the night when James came home and caught the boys giggling as they shoved starbursts in their mouths and pants for later.

"Now what are you two doing up still?" The jetlagged individual chuckled as the two misfits jumped at the sound of his groggy voice.

"Daddy!" They gasped before running into their father's outstretched arms. James lifted the gigglingly blond boys as he swung them around in the air and made growling noises that made him sound like a ferocious bear. He kissed his lovely pair with big slobbery pecks on their cheeks before throwing them on the nearby couch.

"What's with your mother and letting you two having such a crappy sleeping schedule when I am gone?" Carson looked at his brother knowingly before responding to James.

"Mom isn't home yet, uncle Luke picked us up from school." The little boy peeped up, losing the giddiness in his speech. James' frown was enough evidence for the ten year olds to theorize the worst, knowing full well what they had to endure the last time their mom did this. However, James put on a tired smile and yawned.

"Hm, well no matter. It is still 10:15 and you boys have school soon. I think you should get going, go brush your teeth and I'll come read to you guys in a moment." The boys yawn in unison before nodding their heads, James thanking the heavens that they were so compliant. Moments later the 6'1 foot man sat in a dark blue bean bag in the middle of the twins' beds that were positioned against the opposite wall. The twins laid against the blue mass, their super suits luckily doubled as comfy pjs. James started reading a couple strips from a big collection of Garfield comics that he has kept for the longest time.

After about 15 minutes or so he noticed the red and green duo were drooling on the squishy chair. James ruffled his little Hulk's hair before pulling each super child into his arms and dropping them off in their respective beds.

He let out a long sigh once he closed their door and realized that he accidently got chalk residue on his hand from the board that he installed when the boys were around 5. He quickly attempted to redraw Carson's dog and ended up just drawing one of his oddlings instead, reminiscing fondly for a brief moment before waiting for fourty five minutes for his wife to come home. She was obviously quite startled to see her husband home so early, her evergreen dress was battered and seemingly haphazardly thrown on. The green eyed woman gasp as she saw her husband sitting at the barstool in their kitchen.

"How was your day?" He asked after a second of awkward silence.

"Good, just went out for a little bit." She told him truthfully, brushing the curls in her recently dyed strawberry blonde hair.

"I noticed, you didn't pick up the boys today." He said cooly despite the underlying discontent that he held back.

"I thought you were going to." She tried to excuse.

"I needed to discuss plans with my agent for getting plane tickets and everything for my show in New York. I've been reminding you all month!" He explained as he waved his phone that he had been using to text her. He was reminded that his stay would only last until December 12th where he would be performing at Gotham Comedy club for a Christmas special he was asked to do for Netflix.

"Well I needed a break okay? You are gone half the time-"

"I take you with me sometimes! And even if I don't we have a nanny for them so it's not like you take care of them at all!" He shot down her excuse instantly, already losing all patience for his wife. The woman sneered as she stomped her foot angrily on the tile floor.
