James slammed down the trunk to his navy blue Mercedes Benz before hoping in his car. He turned the keys and started to inch foward when a off colored beige hand knocked on his window. The man cursed to himself before rolling down the window but hide his annoyance behind his gold rimmed sunglasses.

"Just wanted to say that I want you to get a necklace for my mother's birthday, there is a fabulous jewelry store in Toronto. Also ... you should be fine with this since, you know don't work." She told him passive aggressively.

"Yes of course I don't work, that's why I'm going to my sold out stand up show and getting paid literally enough money to get your mother five necklaces but whatever." James rolled his eyes as he adjusted his rear view mirror, wanting nothing more than to leave.

"You could if you weren't such a philanthropist when traveling. Seriously you even give money to whores when they don't even work where is your self respect? Your masculinity?" The strawberry blonde nagged, James hated when she brought up their money or rather his. He felt like he could do whatever he wanted with it since he was the breadwinner of the family but it wasn't like he didn't give her what she wanted.

"I'm not going to argue why I decide to be a decent person Amanda, just know that I am." He said in annoyance, rubbing his temples with his left hand while he tapped impatiently on his steering wheel with his right.

"You were a decent person when we met, you've went back to hiding in your little snail shell again like a pussy. Give me a break, just have fun drinking yourself to death like you always do." James knocked back the gear in reverse fast and began to back up quickly, not wanting to acknowledge her any longer.

"Okay love you, watch the fricking kids this time!" He called out before racing off down the road. Amanda crossed her arms in front of her body before storming off inside their house.

Across the Great Lakes, Jaiden erratically raced around the large apartment as she insured the meal that she prepared was still warm as she feared that she predicted her husband arrival too early for their dinner to stay warm. She paced back and forth around her kitchen and mumbled quietly to her self as she meticulously positioned the utensils on the mahogany table. Her daughter continued to place the steaming buttered salmon on three separate plates. The dark eyed girl glanced at her mother as she recognized the perfectionist quirk she always seemed to get when her father would be staying home for more than a few days.

She sighed as she didn't have the incentive to question her mother about her motives. She had some sort of inkling that this time was about wanting something. Her curiosity about her mother was near to none as she would hardly tell her of her youthful days aside for when she was with her friends, which was a rarity. Her father on the other hand was much more ideal in her eyes, clearly a born leader and a Oxford breed mind was what she wanted to model after. She loved her mother though, because unlike her father she was always there for her...even if she took some time to get out of her foggy thoughts.

"Sweetie-no that won't work on him-Craig, I wanted to ask you if I can go with my friend to go to another comedy show in Montreal. I'll won't be gone more than a day, less than that if I could help it." The hesitant spouse cursed her past self for not having enough courage to talk to her husband earlier about their trip. She remembered many nights leading up to telling her husband about it but every time something just had to stop the words from coming out of her mouth. Whether it was forgetfulness, or doubt, or fear of what he might say. Something just had to nag at the back of her head, trying to convince her that leaving would be a bad idea. She probably wouldn't have gone if it weren't for Cypherden and her genuine desire to meet with James again. Any excuse from getting out of her goddamn apartment was worth the-
