Chapter 14

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE DEAL
LET'S RESCUE YUKIKO!!

The crew was rather silent today. Not like their usual behavior. And that was without the silence surrounding them. Riley's attack yesterday made a big impact to the part of the island that they were in. The only sounds they would hear was the splashing waves and the gentle wind blowing through everyone. But then, news came in to the crew.

"Everyone! He's awake!" Chopper called out.

And with that, sounds started to get back to the crew. Starting with a lot of footsteps running around, all grouping up in the infirmary in the end. There was Remi, covered in bandages and was half conscious.

"Remi! You're awake! That's good!" Luffy commented with a wide smile.

Everyone was relived with his conditions, but Zoro and Riley know that this was only a phase. Including what happens next. He glanced at everyone once before trying to get out of bed but Chopper keep restraining him down.

"I'm fine Chopper. Seriously." He finally get to stood up on his feet.
He wobbled on his feet first, but then he finally found his balance. He started walking and Chopper keep trying to hold him back, telling him to rest. Riley wants to stop him so he stood in front of him, scowling at him.

"Where are you going?" Riley asked.

"Outside."

Remi pushed him away and squeeze pass through everyone to get to the deck. Riley then quickly follow behind him. "Remi. Remi stop!" He called out to him but Remi ignored.

When he got down to the deck, Riley catches up to him and stopped him from going any further. "Remi. I won't let you go."

"Why not?! It doesn't concern you!"

"Yes it does. So stop it."

"You don't understand!"

"I understand this the most because we're in this together. It's not just about you."

Remi pushes him away and walk to the side of the ship. Then Riley pulled him back with his powers to stop him. "Stop it!"

"Why won't you let me go?!"

"Because I'm worried about you! You can't do anything can you?! You can't see, you can't shoot and you certainly can't survive out there alone--!!"

"I GET THAT ALRIGHT!" Riley gulped audibly from his behavior change. Normally, Remi has too much pride to step down in a fight of words. Why now?

"I get it. I can't see, I can't shoot, I can't fight, I can't even go anywhere! I'm weak! And I don't need your judgement every second I saw you!! I just... want to make things right." Remi's body started to shake as tears started to drip down his face.

"That day, when blood attacked us, when we were seperated from each other, he wasn't the only one to attack us. Horu came and killed more of us that day. You probably didn't remember since you got knocked out, but he did. He did all of this. Everyone tried to survive, but somehow, he was stronger then us. That's why... That's why I have to.. make that deal with him. If I work for him, help him to get what he want, he'll spare all of us. But in the end.. he just killed all of us! As the vice captain, I won't let that fade. I won't just let their lives go on vain. But I can't also let you go, because I don't want to lose you too! All of my mistakes leads up to this moment of truth. All I wanted is to make it right. So stay out of my way!!"

Riley stared at him. He was lost for words as to his reasons. But then, he made a move. "Your mistakes. Your fault. You caused this. You have to make things right. You you you!!!" He screamed.
