"Goodnight, Y/N." Y/N's mother kissed her beloved daughter goodnight and left her room. The little girl turned to her window and looked at the stars in the distance. She used to always look out the window, hoping she would see the unknown boy again, but since she got older he disappeared.

The boy who took her to an island once, an island called Neverland. Boys were having fun and didn't grow up. The girl wanted to go there again, but after time she made herself wise it was a dream, a beautiful dream. The boy never returned. She never saw Neverland again and she did believe it was only a dream.

What she didn't know was that she was wrong. The boy who took her once, was called Peter Pan and he existed. The boy was real. He used to watch her every night since he took her to Neverland. He got fasinated as he once saw her sitting by the window.

It was just a little girl, with beautiful soft hair, tiny hands and such a warm smile. Peter could not help himself and took her to Neverland one night. The young girl was having an amazing time, but she wasn't lost. She kept talking about her parents and Peter could not keep her on Neverland. So he brought her back before the parents noticed she disappeared.

Since then Peter Pan watched over her every night. He secretly wished she got lost, sad and confused, but it never happened. The girl had a perfect life. She had parents who loved her. She didn't belong on Neverland.

He saw how the little girl grew into a young woman. He got to see how lovely she became. How intelligent she was. How helpful she wanted to be.

There was no time he didn't see her without a smile. Exactly the smile he noticed her for. She became more beautiful the more she grew.

Peter Pan saw how she got married, feeling this jealousy that day. He wished it was him standing next to Y/N. He wanted to give her kisses, hold her and care for her. But it was never meant to be him. He had actually missed a chance.

Time went by and still Peter looked over the beautiful woman. Her life was perfect and she could be the happiest woman on earth with her two little boys. She got twins. And Peter could not help it and smile everytime as he saw how she cared about them.

But then one night, when Y/N got her heart broken, Peter Pan felt it too. Her two boys left their mother a few years back. Y/N was making some dinner for her and her husband who had to return soon. She got old but the boy could not say she wasn't beautiful anymore. Still her smile was the same, her hair, which went grey, still fell over her shoulders perfectly. She still was happy, but that changed that night.

She got to hear her husband died in an accident. Her scream was the most heartbreaking thing Peter heard. Her tears made him crumble down from the inside. A tear dropped of his chin as he didn't see her smile for the first time. It made Peter vulnerable. She cried for the first time.

Y/N was unhappy for long weeks and her sons returned back to their mother to support her. She was not doing great. And it made Pan feel worse. He got upset. He started realizing he had never loved anyone as much as she did. He thought he would never cry of losing someone, because he thought he never loved someone.

After time the gorgeous woman got much older. Her sons got married and had a beautiful family. It were the grandchildren who made Y/N the woman she once was. Caring, loving and helpful. She loved her family and Peter Pan felt broken, because he never knew how to love. He never felt loved.

He realized Y/N changed him. She made him realize everything he never could. He saw everything in her what he had never done. He never cared or loved. He was selfish. He wanted to change that, he wanted to love, but he never did. That's what he thought.

Of course the day came, Y/N got too old, and she was dying. She decided to stay at home, she was alone in bed relaxing, thinking about her life and family.

Peter Pan knew, this would be the last time he would ever see her. He knew she didn't have much time left to live, and it genuinely broke him. It was that night he decided to show himself to her again.

So he flew to the window, surprisingly opening it. As he stepped into the room, the old lady noticed him. She wasn't shocked or scared, she even smiled, making the boy confused and warm at the same time.

"I believed you would show up one day again," she said with a raspy voice. The boy walked up to the bed and looked down at the smiling face of the lady. "You remember me," he gasped slightly. "I never forgot about you." Peter Pan crunched down.

"Come to Neverland with me, Y/N. You can live there," the boy looked with hopeful eyes at her. The old lady smiled again and shook her head. "No," she whispered. "I want to stay here, I want to die where I had a wonderful time." Her beautiful eyes looked at his green ones. Being sure about her decision.

The boy knew she was already slipping away. Her time was ending and as much as Peter wanted to take her away, he couldn't. She wanted to stay there and he could not force her.

"My name is Peter Pan," he said and the old woman smiled, but this time weaker. Peter didn't expect a response, he just wanted her to know his name, because she didn't all these years, as he did. Y/N took his hand. She closed her eyes and thought about his warmth. Peter did the same. He was surprised how soft her hands were.

"Thank you, Peter Pan," she whispered and he heard her last breath slipping out of her. Her hand layed weak in his. It was quiet and Peter Pan looked at Y/N.

A tear rolled down his cheek. He then realized something. He was crying, because of someone. He realized he cared and loved for someone.

All those years he thought he never was like Y/N, he didn't realize he actually was. Because he cared for her, and he loved her.

He knew how to care and he knew how to love. He did it for Y/N. He sighed and closed his eyes, making more tears fall down his cheeks.

"I thank you,"
