"Lucky, he's going to try to kill you." I grabbed onto his arm as he turned away from me."I know that, Brielle." he snapped and I released his arm. His eyes were full of stress. I could clearly see he was panicking. I didn't know what expression I had on my face but whatever it was made his lips droop into a frown. "I'm sorry, darling. I didn't mean to snap at you." he engulfed me in his arms and I rested my head against his chest.
"It's okay," I whispered. He was under a lot of stress, I understood his agitated mood. We both tensed as my phone started to ring from its spot on the bed.
Lucky strode over to it and picked it up while I remained stood in the middle of the room. "It's him." he stated before bringing the phone up to his ear. He was silent for a moment before his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Kalona? How did you get Bella's phone?" I perked up as I heard Mr. Dalton's name. He must've had Bella! "The back door? When did he leave?" I watched Lucky's face as I tried to make sense of the conversation. One sided conversations were hard to keep up with. "Yeah I think that's my best option," he turned to glance at me. "Should I bring her there though? Father will kill me if he finds out." he turned away to speak in a more hushed tone. "Yes, I know it's my only option." he sighed. I played with a strand of my hair nervously as I waited for him to be finished. I wanted to know desperately what was going on and where we were going.
"Lucky can you ask Kalona if I can speak to Bella?" I asked as I walked over to him.
"Of course, my love." he smiled. "Brielle wants to speak with Bella," he told Kalona before handing me the phone.
"Bella?" I asked gently and bit my lip nervously as I awaited her response.
"Brielle," she whispered hoarsely. Guilt overwhelmed me. She sounded awful. What had he done to her? I heard Kalona say something in the background before I heard a gulp.
"Bella?" I repeated her name in concern.
"My throat's really dry, I had to get a drink." she cleared her throat.
"How did you get away from him?" I asked softly.
"He was taking a phone call when Nikki came into his office. After I thanked her a thousand times she brought me to your room and got Kalona, who I can say is the hottest doctor I've ever had." her voice ended in a whisper.
"You're lucky Nikki found you," I smiled as I remembered all the snarky comments she would give me. We were starting to grow pretty close and after her saving my best friend I liked her even more.
"Trust me I know," she laughed humourlessly. "You have a lot of explaining to do, young lady." I could almost see her glare.
"God, I'm so sorry Bella. I wanted to tell you everything but I was waiting for the right moment." I stared down at my shoes shamefully.
"Honestly, I kind of understand why you didn't but it still doesn't make it right." she said before her voice lowered. "You're dating a demon Brielle, what are you thinking?! Not to mention he's your teacher! I never pictured you to be this rebellious," she laughed.
"Bella, I'm in love with him and he makes me happy." I blushed as I felt Lucky's stare trained on me. "Okay, so what he's older, my teacher and a demon but no relationship is perfect!"
