I got home, dumped my backpack next to my bed and immediately ditched my disguise. I fluttered around the room, and stretched my limbs. I dug he transmitter out of my pack, and placed it in the desk. It lit up and I punched in Zander's number. I didn't actually plan on using it for a while, but it was a cool thing to have. I told Elena I would be back later. She tried to stop me, but I said if I got attacked by any animal in the woods, I would get a free dinner.

I flew up to get a better vantage point on the city. I started tracking Zander using his mental frequency; he was in a house at the edge of the city. I dove back down and started speeding through the it. I propelled myself up to his deck and used my tail to prop myself up and stare in through his window. He and who I suppose was the guy he was staying with were looking at a computer screen. He was perched on a stool, his spike of a tail swaying about, and his antenna rolled up into a ram like curl. I heard a loud bark. I look down and see a large dog baring it's teeth.

He jumps up and bites the part of my tail above the prongs where it's the thinnest. I screech. How do I get this thing off without killing it? Blood drips onto the wood.

"Bad dog, let go!" I hear someone yell, and it releases my tail. I'm screwed, but I don't care, the extreme tail pail is gone.

"You know you could have just knocked instead of getting blood all over the deck." I hear Zander's voice, and I look up at him. I pull my tail up so that the prongs are facing him to show that I'm not going to take this garbage, but a drop of blood leaked from the wound, and it lost its effect. I put my mouth on the wound and sucked on the blood.

I pounced at him and dug my fangs into his shoulder. Blue blood drips onto the deck where mine was and it meshes into a purple color. I taste the blue liquid covering my teeth. He flips me over so that he was on top and I slammed him back down with my tail. I feel two hands grip my torso, and lift me up off the ground.

I turn my head and stare at the human with glasses. "You have no idea how bad of an idea this is." I point my tail at him.

Zander looks up at us. "You and I both know that you won't hurt him. You wouldn't even hurt the dog when it had its jaw on your tail." He pauses for a moment, and he puts me down. "Jayden, meet Kazarah Laranagnept, Princess of Ahenvail and one of the two remaining members of our species." He announces.

"If I had my way, I would be the last." I glare at him.

"Why do you want him dead so badly?" Jayden asks suspiciously.

"It's a long story." I reply.

"I have time." He responds.

"Fine, I'll tell the story." Zander starts, "We lived very close to each other through out our entire lives."

"Too close." I cut in.

He continues, "I actually liked it most of the time, and in my opinion I could have had a chance with you had we been forced together less. Heck we're being forced to be that last remaining members of our species together. Although there's no one I'd rather do this with than you, I know that you hate everything about it."

"Your opinion is wrong. I would have hated you anyway." I stare at him apathetically.

"Regardless you might want to have someone patch up that wound before you head home." He says.

"And let you touch my tail!? Fat chance! I'd rather head home while bleeding." I spit at him.

"I could do it." Jayden pops in, "I've been studying your species anatomy ever since I found him. I believe I could do it correctly, and if not you could watch and make sure I'm doing it right."

"Just give me some wrapping and I will do it myself." I declare. They give me the gauze, and I bring my tail up in front of me. The spot is really tender where the jaws spread my scales apart, but I still proceed to bandage it.

"You sure you're gonna be okay?" Jayden asks.

"We heal fast." I reply before gliding off the balcony. Gliding may not be any faster than the birds fly, but it sure is a hell of a lot less taxing on your body. It has been a long night, but I don't believe I'm done trying to get rid of him yet.
