"Gandalf!" you cried while hopping on the cart, setting yourself next to him, "My dear (Y/n), it's been quite some time!" He said, to which you replied, "It has! I haven't seen you since I lived in The Shire?" You looked at him for confirmation, since you weren't too sure.
Gandalf nodded and continued, "You're coming for the celebration I suppose?"
"Yes, I am, I assume you are too, Gandalf?" The old wizard opened his mouth to reply when the pair of you noticed a young hobbit amongst the bank to the side of the path."You're late" the young hobbit stated matter-of-factly
Gandalf spoke, "A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to." Gandalf tilted his hat to get a better look at Frodo, smiling. The two broke into laughter.
You felt as if you were third wheeling, like you missed out on the worlds best joke.
Frodo then leaped on the cart and proceeded to hug Gandalf, "Its wonderful to see you Gandalf!" He exclaimed, breaking the short lived embrace. "It's wonderful to see you too, Frodo," you joked. Both men laughed at this while Frodo fared to envelop you.
"I have missed your witty remarks, (Y/n)," Frodo laughed. You flinched at the suddenness of the hug, but quickly returned the gesture, letting go after an appropriate amount of time.
You both sat down, you being in the middle of a Frodo and Gandalf sandwich.
"You both came for the party, right?" Wondered Frodo. "You didn't think I'd miss your Uncle Bilbo's birthday? Did you?" Gandalf smiled. You looked at the pair, smiling along with Gandalf.
