14:  Burning

Sasha was taken to the House of Fire by Ethan and Olivia the next morning.  They both were carrying three bulging bags each.

She knew she was getting close because of the mountain range of piles of ash.  If there was only ever one boy from Fire, he must have spent half his life just burning anything he could lay his hands on.  Sasha wondered if this other Fire elementist could send jets of flame from the palms of his hands too.  Ash had said that every

The building was dark grey stone.  The carving above the door was of a single flame.  The building was covered in weeds, nettles and brambles.  Olivia looked at them, and they slowly shrunk back into the ground.  Ethan forced the doors open with a knife.  It smelt musty.  The interior was plain and dull.  The walls hadn't been plastered or painted, so the naked stone was the colour of the walls, floor and ceiling.  The room felt like a cave.  There was one bed, a chest-of-drawers and a table and chair in a reddish wood.  Any other furniture had no doubt contributed to the ash outside.

Olivia opened the door to the girl's bathroom.  It reeked of the most foul scents ever to enter the human nostrils.  It was swarmed with rats.

"One minute."  Olivia said as she walked outside the cabin.

Suddenly, the rats, spiders and other forms of unwelcome wildlife squealed as if they knew something wrong was happening.  They vanished.  Sasha scrambled outside to join Olivia.

"I just summoned them to outside."  Olivia explained.  "The ones from the boy's bathroom too.  If they bother you again, just call me or burn them yourself.  Ethan, you brought the disinfectant spray gun, didn't you?"

"Yep"  Ethan replied.  He too had come outside.

"Drown the bathrooms in that.  Sasha, you may not want to use the bathrooms for a while until we get them cleaned and sorted out.  Until then, just go to Tech or Death.  Personally I'd recommend Death.  Tech's always crowded and the whole place there smells of engine oil and machine grease."

"Does so not!"  Ethan protested.

"Does if you're not used to it."
