When Clarke left Arkadia, she had wished to be alone. She needed time to think about what had happened. She needed to think about who she had become. Everything that happened back at Mount Weather was effecting her in a way she couldn't understand. She felt pain for what she had done, but somewhere inside of her she still knew it needed to be done.
Clarke walked as far as she could get from Arkadia, her feet scraping along the leaves that continuously crunched under her weight. She hadn't stopped in days, she just kept going. Further the better. She kept telling herself. But her drying throat and grumbling stomach was slowly making it to the front of her brain. She needed to stop at some point. If she didn't, she would pass out from the lack of water.
So Clarke continued walking, but now she had something to look for. Any type of lake. She just needed some water. She swerved around trees, a cool breeze blowing around her. She shivered but went on, not letting the cooling air get to her.
Clarke felt horrible for leaving everyone back at Arkadia. She felt horrible for leaving Bellamy the responsibility of informing the others that Clarke was in fact gone. Never coming back, as far as they knew. She tried escaping those thoughts, she tried thinking of something better, a place that made her happy. Clarke couldn't find that place though, she didn't have a happy place. Physically or mentally. She had nothing. And all the memories of what she's done since she's made it down here creeped back to her. Like her nightmares haunted her in the day.
Clarke cringed at the thought of everything, is that who she was? A killer? It was for them. She told herself. It was always for them.
Sighing, Clarke found herself walking into a more open area, a very large body of water sitting in front of her. She licked her lips, practically tasting the water run down her throat.
She ran to the edge and dropped to her knees, the rocks underneath her caused a bit of pain but she ignored it. Clarke stared into the water with her large blue eyes, taking a second to appreciate this. Her hands found their way into it and cupped some water. She brought it up to her face to take sip but was interrupted by a woman's voice.
"I wouldn't suggest drinking that water," she let out. Clarke spun around and stood to her feet, pulling out the gun that hung at the side of her. It was the only weapon she had at the moment. The girl threw her hands up, playfully surrendering, "hey, just trying to help you out." The girl smirked and lowered her arms.
Clarke kept her eyes on the girl, eyeing her up and down carefully. She had a jacket on with a dark shirt under it, similar to Clarke's. Her brown hair went past her shoulders and her vibrant forest-green eyes were shimmering in the light. They were beautiful.
"It's not clean. Would make you sick, probably would die in a few days if you didn't get medical attention, I've seen it happen before," the girl continued to smirk, "if you'd like to drink some, go right ahead. I may be a lousy doctor but I could give you some sort of attention."
