Nova's face was splattered with fresh blood, some of it even seeping into her mouth, the metallic taste grossing her out. She pushed the heavy weight off of herself, the echoing sound of the shot still ringing in her brain.
A blur of blonde stood in front of her, an arm out to pull Nova to her feet. When her head stopped spinning, she looked into the girls rich, blue eyes. A sense of relief hidden behind them.
"Clarke?" Nova didn't expect to see the blonde again, she wasn't angry, she wasn't complaining about it, either. Clarke was the only one who hadn't tried to kill her. Or at least not like how the grounders did.
"I saw you walk into here, I didn't think it was you at first. But when I saw your bag...I knew it was yours." Clarke told the girl, a calm and serious expression on. Nova was tired of the same old look that Clarke gave her.
"Well, thank you," Nova glanced down to the dead man, his blood spreading under her feet, "where have you been? For the past couple days? Find anything good?"
Nova wasn't sure whether she actually wanted to know or she just wanted the conversation. Before Clarke, Nova hadn't spoken to any human for almost four months. A human that didn't try to kill her, obviously.
"I found this place, some sort of house," Clarke hesitated, wondering if she was giving in too easily, if she was trusting too easy as well, "I can take you to it."
Nova nodded slowly and followed Clarke out of the cabin and down to the forests edge.
"What made you come this way?" Nova sparked a conversation. The silence was bugging her, she wanted to speak with Clarke before they possibly split up again.
"I was just wandering." She muttered, stepping over a fallen branch. Nova followed her and stepped over it, almost falling as she lost her balance. Luckily, she caught herself.
"I find that hard to believe," Nova mumbled under her breath. She didn't take Clarke for what she was portraying herself to be. She could see that she was trying to hide something. Not really something, or someone. She was hiding who she really was. This only intrigued Nova more.
"Why do you trust me? Or...do you even trust me?" Nova found herself right next to the blonde now, more so in front of her. Clarke looked down, as if trying to find an answer to tell the brunette.
"You could have let me drink that water," Clarke simply replied, bringing her eyes back up to Nova's, "you could have come up behind me and killed me, easily. I should have been aware, but wasn't. I gave you the perfect opportunity to kill me...yet you still didn't."
Clarke had stopped in the midst of their path. Nova listened to everything around her, a few birds chirped, a warm yet cool breeze flew by and the sound of Clarke shuffling from one foot to the other was heard. Her warm, forest-like eyes softened, looking at the girl in front of her.
