A couple years pass. And. Nothing changes.
By the time my second book (! it's just crazy for me to even imagine, two whole different books with my name on them and my mini biography in the back and my words in them! I smile when I think about it) comes out, we have two more cats.
Okay, we were only planning to get one, but they were siblings! We're not cruel.
And also the cats are adorable: two gorgeous calicos small enough to fit in one of my hands.
We name the girl Trix and the boy Tommy and do our best to make sure Levi won't kill them in their sleep.
"They're like our children," Annabelle murmurs to me underneath Levi. The twins are somewhere under the bed, probably scared.
"Less work, though, I bet."
"Maybe someday."
