My laptop reads 7:43. I scroll down the posts, trying to hide from impending academic responsibility and snuggling into my hoodie.
Annabelle Lee-Davis, someone so incredible I'm still not completely sure she's human.
Her blog, No really, I'm okay. I'm also a great liar., is probably the number one reason I'm still alive right now.
She's my secret, despite having over two million other people also following her.
She posts photographs and art, all black and white.
She makes time stand still.
She even writes sometimes. About her life and what's going on, about how much she loves something, about how appreciated her readers are.
I'm constantly in awe and in denial that someone can be so sweet. Sure, blogging is her full-time job, but it's a passion, first and foremost.
She's never even posted a picture or had a video with her voice, but I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her.
The only person I ever told was Rose. It was a couple years ago, back when we were still best friends. Junior year of high school.
"Yeah, but you'll never actually meet her. And besides, she's probably not like that in real life."
The words Rose had uttered had broken my heart, and soon enough she found another friend and moved on, throwing away our (seemingly unbreakable, at least to me) relationship. I never understood why.
But I'm okay now.
Except for the fact that I have an English test tomorrow that I haven't studied for and I'm still on Annabelle's blog.
Jenna, my roommate, opens the door quietly. She walks in and immediately starts stripping, then slips on her pajamas and throws herself into her bed.
"How was your day, Hazel?" she asks me.
"Meh," I reply. "Yours?"
"Meh," she muttered. "You ready for your test?"
"Nope."
"Do you want me to help you study?"
"Jenna, did I ever tell you how much of a literal angel you are?"
She only laughs, running a hand through her short, fluffy red hair, and sits up. I hand her my textbook, and she starts running through the material.
About fifteen minutes, her boyfriend, Jacob, swings in, sits on Jenna's bed next to her, and starts helping her quiz me.
a/n: hi this is me from the future rereading this and noticing how short and meh it is and i promise the chapters get longer and better :)
