She wasn't the highest of class noble, but still a noble nonetheless.Most men would try to get her attention but she was more interested in the art of swordsmanship.She could care less about going to a ball, yet she was forced into a black puffy dress."Isn't this a bit over the top?" She asked her father as she patted the dress.
"Oh certainly no, we must impress our king, plus other high noblemen will be there, and hopefully this time you'll find one you can take interest in other than a metal stick." Answered her father as he tucked his tie into the vest.
"Oh please!Most nobles are stuck up or just plain dull!" She complained as she put up her hair.
"Well, you must get used to it.." he looked away and softly smiled "maybe you'll find someone like how I found your mother, someone you truly love and still a high status."
"What if my soulmate was a barn bred man!What would you say?" She questioned her father
"If he was indeed in it for you I would agree, we would be helping his family." He replied.
"Sometimes father you are too indeed kind for such a high ranking noble as yourself." She told him
"My my, I never been told that before." He said as he grabbed your arm up"Up we go." Gaining a smile from his precious daughter, "now will you attend the ball willingly?"
"As long as I don't have to meet anyone!" She commanded from him putting her hands on her waist he nodded and took her arm with him with her mother beside her father.Y/N's father had to go talk business so she was excused to wonder around the castle.She was amazed and scared as she wondered around.At a dead end she sighed and turned around seeing a black haired man with black armor."A-AH!" She helped as she fell on her bottom.He laughed a bit, then bended down a bit to give her his hand,
"You okay there miss?" He asked with a cold stern voice, instead of taking his hand she smacked it
"You scared me!" She pouted as she patted her outfit once again.She blushed slightly since the man was definitely more than slightly attractive.She was angered and didn't even recognize who he was.
"Oh my, you don't know who I am?" He laughed a bit evil-ishly if that even is a word.She shook her head as a no, she had no interest in knowing other nobles than her family.She has never even heard the royals name expect for Rudolph."Oh dear, well I shall explain,I am Prince Berkut, nephew of King Rudolph." He informed her she then suddenly her instincts told her to bow so she did.
"I-I didn't know please forgive me Milord!" She apologized worried that she would give her family one of the worst reputations.
"No need to apologize, just what are you doing at a dead end?" He asked her, actually curious in something other than his lance.
"I got lost I guess.." she confessed to the prince he chuckled again at her behavior,
"You really do seem interesting, I'll give you that, and your name is?"
"Y/N L/N" ,Y/N said as she tried to curtsy but failed,
"You really aren't the best at being a noble are you Y/N?"
"Psh-- at least I'm not a snob!Have you seen some nobles?" She said with full confidence.
"Anyways, why aren't you dancing or chatting with other nobles?" He questioned her behavior once again,
"They're all mostly boring." She commented
"Oh, so I guess--" he said as he pinned her to the wall "this isn't boring?" He grinned at her as she averted her eyes clearly flustered,he backed up and smiled "This may be the most fun I've had since I was a child," she had been red as an apple at this point, she tried to smile,
"Mi-Milord may I ask something?" She asked him, he nodded."Well-- WHY WOULD YOU EVEN DO THAT?!" She yelled at him luckily, there were far from the ball so no one could hear her, the servants were at the ball attending to the nobles.She covered her mouth and averted her eyes to the wall 'Did..did I just yell at the prince?!' She was basically sweating at this point and worried that he would shame her family.
"Ah,I guess it was a bit out of place for me to do that, but do you wish to displease me, I am the kings nephew." He said and smirked as he looked at her, she stood there nervously.She nodded and left, walking slowly,"I do wish to meet you again, Y/N, I shall remember your family name in case." He informed her she nodded again and walked back to the ball to her father and they left after most of the nobles left.For sure she meet Berkut again.
"So much for not meeting someone"
A few months after the ball,
Berkut visited Y/N very frequently, she thought it would be to hire someone from her family at first but he would just chat with her about subjects or plainly ask for advice and vise versa for Y/N.At a point Berkut and Y/N had grown feelings for each other.
Both Berkut and Y/N were on a bench in Y/N's family garden,both of them were chatting the day away until Berkut said something odd,"Y/N, I must tell you something." He said as he gripped his hand
"What is it Berkut?"
"I think I'm in love." He stated he blushed a little she was a bit surprised to see that he blushed in front of her.
"Oh my-- who is it?Is she a noble?" She poked fun at him and snorted
"Oh shush, you would love her if you were me as well" , he took a deep breath and held her hands
"Berkut?"
"Y/N-- I love you, I really do, and I swear I will protect you with my life, if you will let me." He said as he kissed her.She backed away out of shock."I suppose your answer is no?"
"No!I mean I do have feelings for you as well!" She confessed "And I know how to use a sword--so I suppose we could protect eachother," she suggested
"Sounds perfect my love, and I promise you will be my empress once I become emperor" , he said as he kissed her once again, this time prepared Y/N hugged him.Once they were out of breath they let go.
"Oh!We have to tell my father the news, and your uncle!" She told him
"Yes my love," he kissed her cheek as they headed to her fathers room."
I was gonna put after war stuff but I couldn't think of what I would put for him and Y/N.Oh well.
