Narrator POV

"Z-Zero?? Y-You're a vampire??" Was the only sentence Asami uttered. Then, she clenched her fists, trembling in betrayal. Walking towards the bloodied boy, carefully. "Why, Why did you turn into vampire?" She glared deeply into his eyes, searching for any humanity. But there was no sign of any humanity in them. This wasn't the same amethyst eyes she remembered. They were crimson, a color that held hunger and insanity.

His eyes stared at the two girls, pleadingly, "Yuki, Asami I-I'm so sorry." Yuki stepped back, fearing for what's gonna happen next. While Asami remained where she's standing.

A booming voice echoes across the hall, "Yuki."

"I-Is that you, Kaname?" Indeed it was him, as he kept walking.

"You've been reduced to a bloodthirsty beast, Zero Kiryu." He shielded Yuki from him.

"What the hell is happening?" Asami, who's still paralyzed from fear and confusion, watched as Yuki fell, unconsciously, into Zero's arms.

"Yuki." He felt guilty as he was staring at her unconscious form.

"You devoured her, mercilessly didn't you? So much that she can't even stand up." Kaname accused, as he carried Yuki. "How was Yuki's blood? Was it delicious?" Zero was mortified by his response. A knife was directly pointed at Kaname. He stared at Asami, who recovered from being paralyzed. She gave him menacing glares that could kill a mouse.

"That's enough! Quit saying meaningless stuff that doesn't matter!" protested Asami, still feeling betrayed.

"What happens if I do? Will you be planning to kill me? If so, then go ahead."

Firmly, she kept her grip on the knife, focusing on the pureblood in front of her. A thought crossed her mind. "Asami, the most important thing about being a hunter is don't let your emotions drive you into murder." Her facial expression relaxed, as she calmly lowered the knife. She moved aside, so he could take Yuki to the infirmary. There was an awkward silence, since none of them were speaking.

"Asami, I-I..." Wanting to break the awkward silence, he tried to apologize to her.

"You don't have to say it, Zero. I already know but the question is...Why haven't you told me? You could've told me in the beginning. So, why?"

"Asami..." He tried to reach out to her but she smacked his hand away.

"Don't touch me!" Raising her voice, loudly, but calmed down a bit, "Sorry, I overacted but Zero, I think it's best if we keep our distance." She walked away from him, leaving him ashamed. To be honest, she felt scared on the inside. Scared that the longer she stays there, the more it pains her to realize that Zero, her childhood friend, has disappeared like everybody else. Tears started to built up in her eyes when an image of smiling silvered hair twins came into her mind. Once she was tired of walking, she rested near a lake. She let out calming breaths as she took in the beauty of stars above her. Suddenly, a paper boat nuzzles on her foot. Curious, she picked it up and admired its details. "What a nice boat. Whoever made this is very skilled at art. That kinda reminds of..." She stopped talking, as she started to flashback to her childhood.
