There's a point where you finally get tired and don't give a fuck about anything that has been bothering you. You finally learn to let go and live without the baggage of stressing. That is until you finally stop lying to yourself, everything comes flooding back and you are back down where you started. They might not be present but the experiences are real, all those memories you want to keep hidden behind the no care exterior you thought you had. I thought I could deal with it, I thought I could numb myself but with every day that goes by I realise that I am only lying to myself, adding more baggage to my already heavy luggage.

Today is just one of those days where I feel like getting out of bed has no use. No amount of work can change the fact that the memories keep flooding back. I just can't seem to numb the pain no matter how much I try. The memories keep playing on and on in my mind and I just can't stop them. I can't even fast foward to see if they will stop. To see if they will fade away like my happiness did. I reach for my phone and dial Cynthia's number.

"Alex, is everything okay?"

"Yeah, well sort of. I just wanted to tell you to cancel all my meetings today when you are done you can take the day off"

"Ok, will do. Thanks for the day off."

"It's nothing."

"Bye" she says and I hang up.

"Aren't you getting ready for work?" Ashton asks surprised to still see me in bed.

"I am not going to work today" I say shortly.

"Oh, do you need anything? Are you ok?" He asks coming over to me.

"No I am fine, I am ok. Thanks" I say giving him a weak smile.

"I'll give you some space" he says heading towards the door.

"Don't go. Don't leave me" I blurt out.

"I won't" he says coming over to me and hugging me. We stay like that for hours without saying anything. Sometimes words aren't everything. Sometimes the comfort you get is in silence. Ashton's phone starts ringing. He ignores it.

"Aren't you going to answer that?" I ask after two calls.

"No, it's not important" he says shortly tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"It might be. You can't stop your life because of me Ashton" I say seriously.

"I would stop the whole world for you Princess" he says kissing my cheek.

"Answer it" I nudge. He answers the phone and I get up and take a shower. I get into a pair of skinny jeans and a sweat shirt and head downstairs.

I make a sandwich and go sit by the tv. I realise that there's nothing interesting on so I take my phone and I check my messages. I see a picture of Adara sent to me weeks ago by my sister. I decide that I need to go apologise for treating her the way I did the last time I saw her. I go upstairs to find Ash sitting on the bed with his hands on his face.

"Everything okay?" I ask.

"Uh, yeah everything is fine" he says shortly.

"Ash?" I ask sitting next to him.

"Richard, he is driving me crazy" he says frustrated.

"What does he want now?" I ask. Since I came back Richard has been pestering Ash. It pains me to know that I am the reason he has to tolerate that person.

"Meeting tonight" he says shortly.

"Meeting, you normally don't have a problem with meetings" I say confused.

"I don't. It just bothers me that I have to uh..." he trails off.

"You have to what?" I ask.

"Come with you" he says and buries his face back into his hands.

"I can't do it, no I can't do that Ashton" I say starting to breath heavily.

"I have no choice" he says sadly.

"I uh, I need to leave" I say and exit the bedroom. I get into the car and start driving to Athena's place. I knock and she opens the door and for a moment she looks surprised and then a big wide smile spans across her face.

"Alex" she says hugging me.

"Hey" I say smiling back.

"Come in" she says enthusiastically. Making me regret what I did to her even more.

"I'm sorry about how I acted the other day. I really didn't mean it" I say sitting down.

"I know. You are forgiven" she says brightly.

"How is Matthew?" I ask.

"He is fine, I don't even think he knew he was in danger. I really can't thank you enough for what you did. I don't know what I would have done if you didn't help" she says starting to cry.

"It's ok, Matthew is like my child too. They would have been the same age..." I quickly stop in horror after what I just heard myself say.

"What?" She asks shocked.

"Where's my niece?" I ask trying to change the subject.

"She is sleeping. Now what the hell were you talking about?" She asks adamant to get back to the subject.

"Uh, I was pregnant when Alessandro tried to kill me" I say shortly.

"You were what?" She asks surprised.

"You are going to wake the baby up" I scold.

"I'm sorry" she says hugging me.

"It's ok" I say smiling. I spend about two hours at Athena's Place and I finally get to hold the infamous Adara. I can see what the hype was about. She is a cute little baby who looks just like Athena. She is so cute. I finally get myself to leave the little cute thing and head back home. I find Ashton in his study typing away on his laptop.

"What should I wear?" I ask leaning on the door frame.

"Are you sure about this" he asks.

"There's no way around it" I say gravely.
