Chapter Five

When she came to, the only thing to register at first was the dull throbbing in her head.Camilla raised a weak hand to it, hissing as pain erupted throughout her body when she pressed against the top of her head lightly.A groan of both pain and annoyance left her chapped lips before she finally forced her blue eyes open.

The girl sat blinded for a moment, the glare of a slim ray of sunlight whitening her vision.

Camilla's body jolted, a gasp being pulled into her throat because-
sunlight. She managed to flicker her eyes open then, peering about her surroundings in a dazed confusion.

She was in the woods. The area was packed densely with trees that stood tall, blocking most light from reaching the ground. The ground was littered with pine needles, resulting in a soft crunch sounding beneath her as she shifted her weight about.

Camilla sat gaping at the scenery around her for a few moments, only noticing the body a few feet from her when it let out a groan similar to the one she had earlier.

She kept quiet, her eyes wide as she tried in vain to silently back away across the ground. There were two people that body could belong to- her kidnapper, or Harry; and there was no way in hell she was taking any chances.

Camilla was granted the identity of the boy when he lifted his head up, his chocolate curls sticking this was and that. His body shape was nothing like that of the criminal- so this was Harry.

She blinked for a moment, taking in the boy's appearance before blurting out dumbfoundedly.

"You're the boy that ran into me yesterday"

Her voice was rough and her throat dry, but her words still rang loud through the seemingly empty forest.

Camilla watched as Harry's eyes flashed to her immediately, a look of recognition gracing his features as he struggled to a sitting position.

"What-? Oh god," he grunted, scowling over at Camilla, "you ran into me, first off. And second, where are we?"

The girl rolled her eyes at Harry, her arms crossing over her chest. The conversation was ridiculously casual, and Camilla squirmed as the past few hours came back into her mind. She ignored Harry's question, instead asking something herself.

"Do you think he's still here?"

She lowered her voice to a whisper, her eyes finally meeting Harry's as she gazed over to him in pure terror. The boy's expression soon mirrored hers as his thoughts filled with gruesome possibilities.

They both looked around frantically, eyes scanning the forest grounds for
their kidnapper.

After a few moments of silence and searching about, Camilla lets the idea pass, concluding with hope that he wasn't in the area.

"Wait so- so the guy kidnaps us, and drops is in the middle of no where?" Harry spoke aloud to no one in particular, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Most people would be happy they're not chained up in some damn basement" she muttered out.

If it hadn't been made obvious before: Camilla wasn't some body builder that could fight her way out of situations, no, she used her words. Sarcasm was her only defense, her fallback when needed. She had a sharp tongue, one that often got her into trouble, but was still worth it's use.
