Chapter 7

Meet A Demons Brother

I found myself drifting off into a deep sleep, but I should myself awake before I actually fell into a slumber. I knew these situations, you try and try and try to catch yourself before you finally drift off, but you always fall asleep anyway. Since I knew that was one of those situations, I decided to sit up in my bed and do some more research. I grabbed for my messenger bag and pulled out one of the book that I had checked out at the library. I figured they where still there since Ms. Cherie probably knew I was in a coma for the past 3 weeks, and she probably would have let me keep the books a while longer. I cracked open "Commonly Unknown Urban Legends" and flipped through the pages one-by-one to find this hell of a nightmare. I probably flipped through that book a hundred times;unfortunately, I found nothing about the nightmare. I set the book down on my nightstand and picked up the next one. Sooner or later I had gone through all those books about 15 times each, but I found absolutely no sign about that damned girl in my nightmare. I was getting sick and tired of not finding any answers what so ever, I was loosing this war against myself and I had no desire to loose myself. It was 2:35A.M but I was determined and desperate, so I grabbed my phone off of my bed and called Mason. I had a feeling he wouldn't pick up, but I waited anyway. After it rung about 5 times I was just about ready to give up and end the call but Mason picked up at the last second.

"You woke me up.." Mason said tiredly.

"Sorry bro, but I can't find anything in these books and it's frustrating me!" I said in a whisper-yell.

"Alright, fine. Meet me in the park down the street in ten minutes." After Mason said that, he hung up. I grabbed my bag from my chair and I swung the long strap over my head and over my shoulder. I snuck down the stairs and out the front door. After I locked the door, I started walking down the pavement towards the park. I started to think I should have brought a jacket because it was a cold night. It seemed to get more eerie every step I took, the wind blew my hair gently. All I heard was the wind and my footsteps. I felt the presents of someone behind me, far away. Even if it was far away, I could still feel the presents of someone. I thought it might be Mason, but he would have already been at the park.

I carefully took a knife out of my bag and gripped the handle of the knife and held it close to my side until I was ready to turn around and stab whoever was behind me. Well..not stab but maybe just aim the knife showing I was armed. I quickly turned around holding the knife in my hand in a

stabbing-position. There was nobody there as far as the eye can see. I guessed my over-active imagination was acting up again. I'm turned back around and continued to walk to the park, only faster. When I arrived at the park, I saw that Mason wasn't there. I took off my bag and set it on the bench where I took a seat right next to it. I pulled my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around them as I rested my head on them as well. Goose bumps where forming on my arms because of the coldness. I heard footsteps getting closer to me, it was Mason. I looked up at him and he seemed so tired I felt sorry.

"Sorry I made you come out here." I said.

"It's find, I made you come out here didn't I?" Mason gave me a tired, but meaningful slight smile and I returned it. I grabbed my bag and set it next to the bench on the side that I sat on so he could sit down, too.

"So what's going on?" Mason asked as he sat down beside me.

"I can't seem to find anything about this girl, and it's pissing me off."

"Do you even know what it is? What if it's not an urban legend."

"But what else could it be?"

Mason seemed to be in deep thought.
