Ethan's POV
I was still studying oh wait, revising on what I have to do for the continuous assessment. "Ugh! Why does it have to be so hard?!" I groaned. This is hard, but that's the fun part of learning. Without hardness, life wouldn't be complete.
A few hours of revising, I finally gotten bored. I looked at Sophie, who was still asleep. I got up and went to her. I looked at her face. "Heh, so peaceful." I said. I sighed. I wonder, why did she have to leave? Was it because of me? I stared at her face for a solid two minutes. Her eyes fluttered open. "Ethan? Is that you?" She said. I kept quiet, knowing she was half awake.
She looked at me. "Come here you." She grabbed me and hugged me like a teddy bear. "That's better." She whispered. I blushed. Was she even awake? Oh well, I am tired anyway...
One Hour Later
I was still awake and yes, staring at her face, the whole time. It's been so long since I had seen her. I hugged her back, tightly. I can feel warm on her cheeks. She must have been blushing. "Oh Sophie, how I missed you. You and your laughs. You and your cheerfulness. Sometimes, I wonder, why do you like me? When I have the exact reason why I love you. I love you for you have done for me. I love you because you are the cheese to my nachos. You complete me." I sighed, about to tear up. I know, so cheesy but what can I say?
I sobbed quietly, to ensure she didn't hear my words. But still, I was near her. She could have heard it if she was awake. She looked up and I was shocked. She moved her hands on my cheeks, wiping my tears. "Ethan, why I love you was that, I can see goodness in you. Yes, you too, complete me. I'm annoying and you're calm. You're smart, I'm dumb. When I went too far, you stopped me. That had saved me a lot. We complete each other." She said, putting her head on my chest.
"But I have done nothing to you." I said, looking at her. "Nope, you have done something, you didn't realise. That's all." She said. "What is it?" I asked. "If I told you, you would stop from doing it and I'll be all down." She pouted. I knew, she was trying to cheer me up. I kissed her, on the cheeks. "Aww!!!" She said, all blushing. "Well, come, we have a whole day dedicated to us." I said, sitting down. She nodded.
We went to the elevator. My phone started to ring. "It's not a girl is it?" She asked. "Yes, it is a girl." I hold back my laughter. "Who?!" She asked. Still as clumsy as ever. Better not make things too bad. "It's my mom silly." I touched her nose. She pouted. "You got me there." She wiped her nose. "Wash that hand mister!" I blushed while smelling my hand. It smelled like soap. "Gotcha there big guy. She started to laugh loudly. "Yeah yeah, you got me." I answered the call.
"A very good morning to you Mother. How are you?" I said, full of cheerfulness.
"And a very good morning to you too my son. I am fine, what about you?" She asked. "Good, guess what?" I asked. "What is it?" She asked. "I met Sophie!!!" I said. "Wait, Sophie? As in Sophie Hayden?" She asked. "Yep!" I said. "Are you serious? Like it is really her? The one who left our house Sophie?" She frantically asked. "Yes Mother, that Sophie." She gasped. "Well that's good news Son!" She said with a happy tone. "Must have been a shocker huh?" She asked. "Yep, who wouldn't be?" She laughed.
"Can I speak to her?" She asked. I gave my phone without any hesitation. "W-what?" Asked Sophie "My Mother wants to speak to you. Here." She took my phone. "Hello Mrs. Long time no chat and see." She asked nervously. "HI!!!!" She yelled. "It's been so long since I have last seen you. How are you? What happened?" She blurted out. "Well." She gave a nervous laugh. "It's a long story and for now, I don't want to talk about it. But what I can tell you is it is a family problem." Sophie looked down as she said that. "Oh dear, I am so sorry for asking a really sensitive question." My Mother apologized. She gave a soft smile. As if that my Mother was next to us. "It's Ok. I know many want to ask the reason that I left without saying Goodbye. For that I apologies to all of you guys, especially you Mrs." Sophie said while sounding like she was about to tear up.
"It's ok. Whatever it is it must have a good reason and when you're ready, you can tell us." She said full of understanding and sympathy.
"All right! Is there anything else you want to update, Ethan and Sophie?" She asked. We both looked at one another, smiling. "Nope." We both said in unison.
