Ethan's POV

Two Days Later

I woke up to the sound of the alarm, took my shower and wore my hoodie. Today will be a fun day as today is my first working day! How can I get a job that fast? It turns out that the place I'm working is my uncle's shop. It's called "Joe's Cafe". Nice name huh? I gotta admit, the place is quite famous for it's coffee and it's toast. And he always allow new recruits as he needed young spirits as in the help of the young people to help the business going.

I head downstairs and ate my breakfast. My mother came downstairs. "Good morning Ethan." She yawned. "Good morning mom." I replied, smiling to her. She sat at the table. "Ready for work today?" She asked. I nodded in response. "Uncle Joe will be happy seeing you today." She said happily. "Yeah, it's been a while since I met him." I said. The last time I met him was when I was in elementary school. He was a very cheerful, active and very loveable guy. I quickly finished my breakfast and we head out to the cafe.

Time Skipped To Cafe

In around half an hour, we reached the cafe. We parked the car and got out. "Woah....so big." I said in amazement. The place was two storey high, but the bottom floor looks like it can fit at least two tennis court. Pretty big right. In this sense, how am I supposed to find the tables, after the bartender make the coffee or toast. How? Oh man, this is gonna be haed, but I like it. Finally, a reason to run around holding cups. No wonder he needed young people only.

We walked in the cafe. We went to the counter and asked the guy at the register to where is the owner, and by that is Uncle Joe. He guide us to the office. Once I open the door, the room was air-conditioned, so it was really cold. From there, I saw uncle Joe. "Ethan? Is that you?" He said, in shock. "In the flesh uncle." I smiled. He got up and ran to me and hugged me, so tight. "Uncle......can't......breathe." I struggled. He straight away put me down. "Oh, sorry. How are you?" He asked. "Good, good, just graduated, and now waiting to for me to enter in a university." I said. "Oooo, which university is it?" He asked. I showed him the university through my phone. He was shocked. "You managed to be in that University? I'm so proud!!!!" He said. I can hear from far that my mother was laughing.

"Alright, so in the meantime, while waiting to enter the University, you wanted to work with me for the next three months, right?" He said. "Well, it's what we're here for. So, is there any room left for me or not?" I asked. "Hmmm..nope, just kidding. Yeah! We have room for one more, you're lucky my boy, very lucky." He said, smirking. So cheerful. "Alright, I'll see you later, got to go to work. You two have fun!!" Said my mother. "Ok. See you!!" I said. Then, she left us.

"Alright, let me show you the ropes and staff members. Trust me, they are just like you, making some cash while waiting for their University registration day." He said. "Wow, can't wait to meet them!" I said, excited. This is gonna be good. The kind of people that my uncle liked was the people who are positive. Now, I probably be meeting smart, cheerful people. We walked out of the office.

We went downstairs. We went to the kitchen. Remember when I said that the store was like the length of two tennis courts? Well, scratch that, it's the size of three tennis courts. "Alright, let's see. What do you want to be?" He asked. "What can I be here?" I asked. "Well, you can be the servant, bartender, cleaner, supply checker, or bodyguard." He said. "Wait, bodyguard?" I asked.

I followed him, leading to the entrance of the cafe. He stopped at one person, who is the same tall as me. How come he looked so familiar. "This is our bodyguard." He said. The guy turned around, revealing, Lars? "Wait, how come he is a bodyguard." I scoffed. "How come he is working for us?" He scoffed as well. We both turned around, looking away from each other. "Oh, it seems like you two know each other?" Said Uncle Joe. "Know each other? Hah! Were practically enemies!" He shouted. My uncle just chuckled.

"Well, hope you two can make it up." He said. "As if!" Me and Lars said in unison. We both we're shocked. "I think it's better if you are the servant." Said my uncle. I nodded. "Well, have fun!!!" He said. Then, my uncle walked away. It was silent. I looked at Lars. For how long should we fight and quarrel. I should end this. "Hey, dude." I called him. "Yeah, what is it?" He said, crossing his arms. "I think, we should stop quarreling each another. Let's be friends. Ok?" I said, shaking his hands. He smiled. "Alright, friends. Oh, and I'm sorry about Sophie. How she left." He said in a sad tone. He patted my back.

"It's fine. I hope she will come back." I said. He patted my back. "Just keep on hoping. Don't give up. Ok?" He said. I nodded.
