scenario: people b sleeping on hoseok
ship: was supposed to b vhope but ended up as yoonseok bc im a yoonseok whore"hello army how are you guys doing? im just out here wit my woes"
hoseok smiled at the comments, most of them going by so fast that he couldn't rest his eyes on them long enough to actually read them. however, one comment in particular caught his eye.
daddyjimin: where is jungkook?
he decided to just ignore that comment, smile wavering as his eyes remained glued to the flying comments.
taetaegetsmypoosiwet: ew get off here you give bangtan a bad name
hoseok froze.
jiminslittlechili: your mom must be disappointed to have such an ugly son
comments continued to fly by, hoseok too shocked to even react to them. was he really bringing bangtan down? was he just another member so that they could have an odd number? thoughts flew through his head, eyes still focused on the hateful words.
holaholaboner: just kys faggot no one needs u in this group anyway lol
yoongi sat in the next room, mindlessly wandering through instagram. remembering hoseok's text about doing a vlive, he decided to open the app and watch the younger boy's broadcast. yoongi stared at the screen, waiting for the video to load.
why isn't he moving?
closing out the app and opening it once again, yoongi watched as the video remained frozen. he got up and opened the door to hoseok's room. "hey, your vlive's frozen-"
hoseok was staring blankly at his phone, body trembling slightly as his breaths became heavier. yoongi watched for a few seconds, finally realizing what was going on.
"hey, hoseok, turn the vlive off, we have to go practice!" he called, running up to the younger and snatching the phone from his hand. "sorry kids, gotta kachow."
yoongi turned the camera off, throwing the phone on the bed and finally looking at a still trembling hoseok. he was about to speak before he saw the other boy moving his lips. yoongi sat on the bed, leaning closer so he could hear.
"im useless."
the older frowned, tilting his head. were his ears playing themselves?
"what do you mea-"
"i don't deserve this, yoongi. i don't deserve bangtan."
the words registered in his mind as yoongi's eyes widened, placing his hands on hoseok's shoulders. "who told you that?"
hoseok shoved yoongi's hands off his body, standing up off the bed and making his way to the wall. "no one had to tell me, hyung, i already know. you don't have to pretend anymore."
yoongi sat in silence, staring at the boy facing the wall from across the room. "do you really believe that?"
still facing away from yoongi, hoseok began to collect his belongings. "i'll tell pd-nim i'm leaving. don't worry hyung, you won't have to deal with me anymore."
standing up from the bed, yoongi flew across the room and pushed the younger boy's luggage out of his hands. opening the suitcase, he began to pull everything out harshly, clothes littering the floor and furniture of the hotel room. his hands came to a stop when they landed on his and hoseok's friendship bracelet, sitting at the bottom of the suitcase. yoongi stared at the other boy's back, his now trembling hands gripping the bracelet so tightly he was afraid it might snap.
"does this mean nothing to you?" he asked. when he didn't receive a response, he threw the bracelet at hoseok's back, watching as the other boy remained frozen. "did all these years mean nothing to you? all that time i thought we were actually friends, and now this? was i the only one who thought that? tell me, hoseok! what do i mean to you? what does bangtan mean to you?!"
yoongi waited for a response, letting out a dry chuckle when he received none. "i thought the boy in front of me was hoseok, my best friend. i thought the boy in front of me was the same one that cried with me in the bathroom when i thought about killing myself, the same boy that bought me my favorite cupcakes and took care of me when my mom died because i was afraid i would end it all just so i could see her once more! but now i know... that all these years i've only known j-hope, a member of bangtan sonyeondan."
standing up to leave the room, he was stopped by a hand gripping the bottom of his sweater softly. "don't go."
yoongi turned around harshly, ready to snap at hoseok. but his eyes landed on the younger's wet eyes, gaze following every tear rolling down his cheek and landing on his now tear stained shirt. grip tightening on yoongi's sweater, hoseok choked on his words as he let out a sob. "don't go, hyung."
and somehow hoseok ended up in yoongi's soft embrace, his loud sobs filling the room. yoongi felt his heart break every time a sob racked through hoseok's trembling body, the younger's tears staining his favorite sweater.
yoongi held hoseok until his sobs became soft hiccups, stroking his hair in a way he knew calmed the other. hoseok whimpered when yoongi tried to pull away, burying his head deeper into his hyung's shoulder. "i'm not going to leave you, hoseok. i just need you to look at me."
reluctantly, hoseok lifted his head, his tight grip on yoongi's sweater loosening when he believed the elder would stay with him. yoongi watched as the other avoided his eyes, staring very intently at the painting behind them instead. pulling the younger's chin towards him, yoongi rested his forehead on hoseok's, staring into the other's flickering gaze. "don't ever do that to me again, alright?"
hoseok nodded softly, burying his head into yoongi's shoulder once again. yoongi smiled as he felt hoseok trace shapes onto his back, his fingers resting on the cat embroidered onto the bottom of the sweater. "i'm sorry, hyung."
yoongi intertwined his hand with hoseok's, resting his head atop the other boy's. "it's okay, seokie. just stay here with me."
