Credited with being one of the first grunge bands, Green River was definitely something. Green River was mostly made up of future Pearl Jam and Mudhoney members, as you can tell by the sound. They sound like the punk-rock version of Pearl Jam, with Mark Arm on vocals. Mark Arm has said that he named the band Green River, because at the time the Green River killer was still on the loose in the area, and Mark Arm's goal was to be obnoxious and piss people off.
