Its an early Tuesday morning and the Blackhawks are practicing for the next season when Brandon gets a call that changes it all...
“Hello?” Brandon answers the phone not knowing who it is.
“Is this a Brandon Bollig?” The voice on the other end says
“Yes, who is this?” He asks.
“This is the Northwestern Memorial Hospital calling to let you know that Ms. Brown has been in an accident.” The nurse on the other end says
“WHATTTT?! NOOOOOOO!” Brandon screams and drops the phone, the whole team looks at him.
“Sir are you okay? “ The nurse tries to talk to him but Brandon breaks his phone.
Jon and Patrick and the team skate over to a crying Brandon.
“Dude what’s going on?” Shaw asks.
“It’s Kate she’s been in an accident and she had the girls with her. “ Brandon cries.
Coach Q skates closer and talks to Brandon.
“Go to the hospital now, we will all come visit later. “ Coach Q pats his back.
“Thanks Coach. “ Brandon says.
Brandon literally runs off the ice and takes off his skates and gets dressed and runs to the car and drives as fast as he can to the hospital.
He runs up to the nurses station and says “I’m here to see Ms. Brown, I’m her boyfriend.” He says that as the girls run up to him.
“Shhhh, it will be okay! “ He says as he rubs their heads.
“Is mommy gonna be okay?” Payton asks.
“I can’t really answer that princess, but I’m sure that mommy will be okay.” Brandon says as he picks up Payton.
The doctor comes out and pulls Brandon to the side...
“She’s stable, but she has a broken leg and she needed stitches above her eye. She needs to rest, and I prescribed her some pain medication for the head and her foot. She can go home in 2 hours, after the nurses take her blood.” The doctor on duty says to Brandon. “Oh and congrats Mr. Bollig.” he smiles.
“For what? “ Brandon asks the doctor looking confused.
“She’s 3 months pregnant, I’m assuming its yours.” The doctor says in a puzzled voice.
“I’m guessing so.” Brandon says and then they go visit Kate.
