Luke
Timeline: About 23:45 PM GMT (Same day)
Place: 10th Downing Street (specifically, my private library aka my secret room)I was calmly reading the archives left by the previous Chancellors and check if they left some things that are unfinished. As far as I know, the previous Chancellors like Harold Wilson, James Callaghan, and even Sir Winston Churchill did leave something suspicious that could lead to the evidences that another uprising shall be within this era.
As far as I have researched, there are some things that they have left. There are some articles that says that whoever will be the Chancellor of the current existing House of Britain, shall face a great responsibility in handling the government for Britain will fall for another time. The articles could've referred to my predecessors, or it could be me.
" Hey, Luke."
I looked at who entered and it was Daniel, who was feeling exhausted and a bit sweaty. I may have to figure out that he escaped again in the Palace and went straight in here. He's another reason why I'm having a headache right now.
" Hmm? What made you come here right at this hour?" I was still reading the articles at the table very carefully
" Hey, what's this in the news that says about a renegade out in London?"
I looked at the Crown Prince, feeling surprised all of a sudden, without knowing any reason why. Well, of course new travels fast and everyone might've known that one by now. For now, I just "follow the crowd".
" Hmm? How did you knew about it?" I put down the book and started to ask him
" You know. Phone, Television, and now, from you. So, is it true?"
" Yeah, it's true. And—"
" And it's name is Phantus X, right?" He sat down beside me, as he interrupted
" Okay, before I can tell you my perspective, how much did you knew the story already?"
The Crown Prince started to think about its numbers about his knowledge about Nightlock. Speaking of thinking, I thought about his doctor said in the past few days about his memory. Should I already tell him about it? If I do, will he even be able to handle the situation?
" About 30% already. But the rest, I haven't even searched about it yet."
The thought about him, remembering everything again, makes me quite comfortable and uncomfortable about my status as the Chancellor. I also thought about, what if he knew about everything but he was just pretending not to know everything? Wait a sec.... why am I starting to think like this? I grabbed out the envelope and let him do what he does.
" Those are all that we collected about him so far. His movements, information, last appearances and even his achievements in the past 3 years."
He read the profiles as closely as he can. For some reason, he just smiled, just by looking at it. Does he had any idea about this?
" Well, an interesting concept. I don't know about you but I am quite thrilled to see how he achieved this for the past 3 years. 47 cases, huh? Nice." He was still smiling as he was gave back the envelope to me
" Aren't you quite mad or disappointed at me because I'm not doing my job quite properly?"
" Huh? Who am I to be mad at you? This is your first time handling such a complex case, right?"
