A S H T O N

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

I stared into Ruby's bathroom, seeing her crouched over the toilet and with her fingers in her mouth.
She looks up at me, fear in her eyes, "A-Ashton I promise it's nothing I just felt sick and I wanted to throw up because I thought it would make me feel better."
I look at her hazel eyes, she looks just like me.

Something about the look on her face made me trust her. I embraced her short, but thick figure into my arms. "Ruby if there is anything going on I promise you can come to me and we can figure this out, ok?" I felt her nod her head, still nestled into me. I pulled away from the hug, "Alright kiddo you should get some sleep, we're going to go shopping tomorrow and get you some clothes and other stuff. sounds good?"
She pulled away from me, "Yeah ash, sounds good." She ducked into her bathroom and shut the light off, making her way to her bed. "Goodnight Ash."

I smiled, "Goodnight Ruby. Love you." She gave a smile smile back and said, "I love you too."

I exited her room, closing the door behind me.

She said she loved me.
I was in total awe by the 4 words that she spoke to me.
I pulled the covers back on my bed and got ready to go to bed. I made my way into my attached bathroom and brushed my teeth. I pulled my covers back and tucked my feet into my bed, shutting off the lamp on my side table.

I woke up at 7:47 on the dot. I was very excited for today; I got to spend the entire day with Ruby, just me and her.
I checked my phone and quickly got out of bed, wanting to go make breakfast so we could get going as soon as possible. I descended the stairs to a quiet house. I made my way to the kitchen and checked the fridge.
I'm sure I could make some avocado toast. Does Ruby like avocado toast? What if she doesn't like it and then I make a lot and then I have too much? Who am I fooling I have a house full of boys that love avocado toast.
A million and one thoughts raced through my mind, and I didn't know what to do. I shook my head and realized that Luke was sitting on the barstool in front of me.

"Dude are you okay?" Luke said in a quiet voice. I nodded my head, "Yeah. Yeah, I am, I just don't know what I'm going to make for breakfast." I laughed because the situation was kind of funny.
"Avocado toast sounds good." a tired voice says from the stairs. I look over and find a ruby with an over-sized sleeping shirt on.

"Good morning Ruby. You like avocado toast?" I said, a smile pulling on my lips. "What kind of crazy person doesn't like avocado toast?!" she said, making her way down the stairs.

"She's right, Ash. I don't know why that was even a question. I giggled, "Avocado toast it is then. Ruby took a seat next to Luke.
"Are you even wearing pants?" Luke says, his eyes grazing her thighs. "Are they that necessary? This is my house too." Ruby says, defensively. "Hey, you're living in a house full of boys!" says Luke, playfully slapping her.
I scoff, "Guys c'mon. No fighting in the kitchen. Plus, she's has every right to not wear pants in her house!"
"Alright, alright." Luke laughs and holds his hands up defensively.
"Well, go get dressed, loser, we're going shopping."
