I felt someone nudging me, I turned myself to face Sonia. I frowned as I removed my earphones, the look on her face already telling me what she wanted to ask me, but I waited for her to say it. Her deep blue eyes bore into mine dark ones.
"What is it, Sonia?" I asked feeling slightly annoyed, I watched her pale face turn bright pink, she shyly fixed her tight grey ponytail and gave me a cheeky smile.
"I was just wondering how are you feeling." this is at least the tenth time she asked me that since we got on our plane, but what can I do, she is like my second mom. When you are far away from your parents, and you live with only your maid - nanny, you create a special bond. But I just can't deal with her right now, my whole life is just one big mess.
"I'm fine." I turned away and returned to my music, looking through the plane window again, waiting for this flight to be over. I felt nervous because I didn't saw my family for two years, I moved a lot with my maid and changed a lot of schools. But of course it is my fault, after all, as little I often shown signs of my wild nature, and with age, my behavior started to get a lot worse.
I've been know as troublemaker since my days in dypers, and when I started going to school I nearly got expelled for starting a fight. But then my parents did their magic with money and I changed school. So when things got pretty heated up, I would usually change school, and often another city. I came home on every weekend, holiday, on any chance that was given to me, until about two years ago.
"Ladies and gentlemen, as we start our descent, please make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position...".
"We are almost home." Sonia whispered and shot me her famous smile, despite being in her sixties, she was an energetic person. Which was what I needed, someone to keep up with me though our age gap, with me being wild, hormonal eighteen years old girl.
When we landed, my parents sent a driver to pick us up. And after about a half an hour we arrived in Riverdensen. Suddenly I was feeling really nervous, I tried to play it cool, but Sonia saw right through my act. She gently squeezed my hand, showing me that she will be there with me, I let a small smile creep on my face. It didn't matter that it wasn't sincere, she is used to it by now, it hasn't been genuine for a while now.
I stared at the big gates that were slowly opening, giving me a better look at the mansion that I call home. Yellowish facade appeared shining on the early morning sun with celestial creatures on corners of the roof giving it palatial vibe. Big staircase, decorated with roses, led to the big entrance doors where stood my loving parents.
I got out of the car and started walking to them, I didn't know what reaction I am going to get from them and oddly, the staircase never felt longer. My mom and dad had the serious facial expressions, but once I stood in front of them, smiles appeared on their faces, and they embraced me. It surprised me actually, I expected a more serious approach. My heart filled with warm emotions that I tried to shut out.
