Dear Belinda,
When Monday afternoon rolled around, you were nowhere to be seen. Rebelle, MacKenzie, and Rebecca said that the only time they saw you was in class and even then, your nose was in your phone whenever the teacher wasn't looking.
We all came to the conclusion that you were with Joey. Our suspicions were confirmed when we saw the two of you cut through the cafeteria to get to the courtyard, never even sparing us half a glance.
I turned to see Rebelle, MacKenzie, and Rebecca with their mouths agape. Each of them looked like they were shot in the heart and left to rot on a river bank by someone that was closest to them.
I could understand their pain.
While I haven't known you as long as they have, you became the light of my life in the month and a half that I've been around you. You made me feel less like an outsider and made me smile a lot more.
I didn't mean to frown because you were happy, but that's what I seemed to be doing when you weren't by my side.
Sincerely,
Delilah
