As Clary walked down the halls of institute she looked down upon her wrist and shook her head. They made her feel weak, unworthy. She didn’t want to be weak ever again, she didn’t use an iratze to heal it though. She knew it sounded strange but she wanted the reminder, to make sure she would never do it again.
She stopped in front the infirmary door she needed answers. Part of her wanted to prove Jace wrong, but through the arrogance she had possessed during their fight a bit of what Jace had said pushed its way into her mind.
Clary pushed through the twin doors and saw…
No one. None of the beds were fill. Everything was neat and precise just the way it was when she entered before. Clary stalked to the last bed her footsteps echoing throughout the infirmary.
Before she saw him she felt his breath against her collarbone, his arms imprisoning her so there was no room for struggle. “Hello Clarissa, I know this is no way to repay you after you saved my life, but I have no choice, I am under order.”
Clary tried to elbow him but she could not move locked in tightly to his cold chest.
“I’m sorry” the man said without a hint of genuine sympathy in his tone.
She screamed out her worst nightmare becoming reality. Jace was right I should have never of saved this man, he wasn’t worth saving he was take me to him so that he could use me again, her ranting and raving until she heard the familiar slice of skin, but no pain erupted from her, it was from the man.
He fell to the ground in a bloody mess.
Clary looked up to see Jace standing over him. “Can’t I ever leave you only for one second without you getting yourself into more trouble” he sighed and hitched his seraph blade into his belt.
Clary laughed through the lump in throat that stopped her tears from flowing and ran to him. His arms wrapped around her and she had never felt so warm. The familiar smell of his hair, mixed with the coopery smell of blood. Like a warrior.
His embrace unwrapped the lump in Clary’s throat and the tears came flowing out. She fell to her knees and he came with her down onto the cold tiles. They stayed like that for several minutes clary repeating I’m sorry more times than Jace felt necessary, although Jace didn’t know what she was sorry for, Clary did.
She felt guilty because of what she’d done with Sebastian, she didn’t mean to, but that didn’t make it any better. Jace should have been the one to touch her like that. The thing that she felt worse for she didn’t stop him she tried to but she got lost in her own pleasure. The thing that confused her was how he touched her. He had caressed her in a loving way, nothing rough, it was all tender and sweet, sure was tied down at the start, but once the nice Clary was gone and the demon emerged she couldn’t care less if he was her brother or that he was a demon who dreamed of slaughtering her friends. They had done it and she had let him.
