Chapter 8

Why don't I get a family?

Why does Daniel still have his real family?

Everyone here has no family, literally.

We all apparently lost them from accidents. We all had to come here, and get trained and everything.

That's all I know.

"I don't have a family....." I say trailing off trying to think.

Daniel grabs my face and makes me look up at him.

He studies me, trying to see if I was lying or not.

I was completely serious.

He found that out after a few seconds.

"Where are they Hailey?" He asks and I shake my head.

I don't know......

All of a sudden, things start flashing back to me in a instant.

I see these two adults pushing me down a slide.

I also see a little girl, and I am playing with her.

These names start coming to me.

Robert Scotfield, Melissa Scotfield, and Mikayla Scotfield.

I start looking around the room frantically because everytime I look around, a memory shows.

Daniel starts saying something but I don't here him.

I'm too overwhelmed with what was happening, and I couldn't focus on what he was saying.

The last thing that happened is the Boss dodging in my room and pushing Daniel out of the way.

He pushes a needle in my arm and I go blank.

Nothing happens and I don't remember anything that just happened right away and then my eyes grow heavy.

I hear Daniel say one last thing before I doze off.

"Now I understand, you are a bastard!" He yells and then I go peacefully to sleep.

*Next day*

I wake up with a major headache. I try to get out of the bed but my head keeps me from doing it.

After a few minutes, the pounding stops and I finally get out of bed.

I walk to my bedroom door to go to the boss's office.

I open the door and walk in. The boss is sitting in his chair behind his desk and looking at a computer.

"Hey Hailey, how you feeling? We need to talk." He says and I nod.

I close the door behind me and walk up to one of the seats infront of him.

I sit down and he continues.

"Remember the mission where you have to go and get the money the people owe us?" He asks and I nod.

Pharrel still isn't fully healed up even though he went on the mission yesterday with us.

He just drived and shot some enemies without moving a lot.

"Yes sir, I do remember. What do you want about it?" I ask and he chuckles.

Why does he always chuckle?

"I always chuckle so then you can be intimidated. It never works though, because your pretty tough, I must say." He says and my eyes widen.

Did I say that outloud? That is embarrassing.

"Anyways, I want you to go on that mission as the leader of it. You will plan everything and also, choose your team this time." He says excitedly and I smile.
