I am woken up by the sound of the metal door slamming closed.
I slowly open my eyes and adjust them to the dark room.
I try to move but the chains restraint me. I look around the room and see a figure standing in the corner...
Observing me.
What the hell?
Don't let this turn into a scary movie!
The figure starts moving towards me and I keep calm.
"Hello Hailey." A familiar voice says.
"U-um hi...." I trail off, trying to be polite, but it comes off sounding ignorant.
"Do you remember me?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No, sir." I say respectfully and he chuckles.
I get chills from the way it sounds like a chain getting stuck on the chainsaw.
"I'm suprised McKinnon didn't tell you about me." He says and comes into the minimal light in the room.
I gasp in recognition.
Boss McKinnon's leader, Mr.Alvarez.
Mr.Alvarez comes up to me and yanks on the chains.
I hiss in pain, and he chuckles.
"Hailey, Hailey, Hailey...." He trails and I try to scoot back away from his proximity, but the chains keep me in place.
"Can you stop moving? I'm trying to get the chains loosened so then I can get them off." He says roughly and I stop wriggling around.
He loosens them and gets keys out of his pocket and unlocks them.
I try to jump out the chair, but he restraints me down.
"Stop! Or I won't let you out of here." He says and I furrow my eyebrows.
"I feel like your going to rape me or something." I say truthfully and he mumbles something under his breath.
"What was that?" I ask him and he looks up at me sincerely.
"A lot of people say that to me. Meaning girls. I try to stop them from struggling against the chains and they end up tightening them and they cut off circulation. They freak out, saying that I'm going to rape them or something. When really, I'm trying to help." He says sincerely and I nod.
There have been other girls?
Now I know my gang has something to do with this.
"I'm sorry for my stupid accusations. I should really stop doing that. Also, one question, if your the leader, why are you letting me go?" I say and he sighs.
"The bosses of the other groups don't listen to me. They tie up their own people and interrogate them, never letting them out. I always tell them to stop, because they assume things too many times. Then again, they don't listen." He says and I nod solemnly."Can't you like, fire them or something? I mean, you are their leader. Not the other way around." I state and he shrugs.
"That's the thing. When they create their own groups from mine, they sign a contract. It states that they can do whatever they want, but it has to be fair to other groups, and be legal. If they don't do either, they get "fired"." Alvarez says and I nod.
Now it all makes sense.
"Wow. That's weird." I say lowly and he laughs.
"Well, that's what this whole gang thing is: weird." He says and I laugh too.
"Mr.Alvarez?" I ask him and he looks at me.
"Yes Hails." He says and I chuckle.
I already got a nickname from him!"Um, well. Do you know if I really had a family?" I ask and he stops to look at the ground.
He backs away from me and I get out of the chair.
"Did McKinnon ever tell you why your here?" He asks and I shake my head.
"Well, your kind of related to someone in this gang. I can't say who, but just know that. It might be your members or maybe, your very own boss." He whispers the last part and I scrunch my face up in confusion.
I'm related to someone?
