The Fight Between Two

Chapter 9

I wake up and I go straight to my bathroom. I clean up and put my normal clothes on. I put my hair up in a high ponytail and I walk out of the bathroom.

I grab my phone and slid it into my pocket. I walk out of my room and to room 204 where the gang apparently hangs out.

I didn't know we hanged out in just one room together until my "Wedding day".

Once I reach the door, I open it without knocking and am stopped immediately.

Everyone is staring at me through their guns.

I take mine out and point it at them. Although, I am outnumbered I can still shoot all of them in record timing.

If your wondering why they are doing this, is because I didn't knock.

"Guys, put the guns down, it's me." I say boringly.

They all put their guns down and I do too.

"Alright, Boss. Who are you going to choose to be in your team?" Connor asks and I shrug.

"Everyone in a line, now." I order them and they all immediately get in a straight line.

Wow, this is going to be hard. They all are good to have in a team because they listen to simple orders.

"Okay, now who should I pick...." I trail off walking down the line of people looking at them like a sergeant does.

"Connor, Levi, Pharrel even though your barely any help, Ramos, Brad, Simon, and one more......." I trail off and look at two people left standing.

Daniel or Tom.

Tom is a nice person and really good at what he does, but he acts too shy around me and he is a little perverted. He talks about me in weird ways around the gang when I'm not there.

Then there's Daniel. He is a sweet person but a douche, especially yesterday. I like him a lot and he is great at what he does for the gang. He doesn't talk about me, but it doesn't mean to others.

I think I know who I am picking.

"Will you hurry up? We all are waiting Hailey." Daniel says rudely and my jaw drops.

Should I still pick him? Or should I pick Tom?

"Listen here you little douche, you are not my Boss, I am yours and you need to respect that and me. I am tired of your disrespectful attitude, when I am trying my hardest not to put you six feet under. Now, if you wanna talk respectively towards me and my team, that wouldn't be so hard. Are we clear?" I ask and my almost complete team starts 'ooh'-ing and saying "You need some ice with that burn?" and I smirk.

Look who got the last go.

"I pick Daniel on my team, sorry Tom but you just creep me out." I say sympathetically.

He nods and I nod back.

"Alright team, let's go." I say and walk out. They all follow me in a crowd.

We reach the Bosses office and I knock.

"Come in!" McKinnon shouts to us.

I open the door and come in.

"Hey Hailey! Is this your team?" He asks and I nod.

"Yes sir, this is my team." I say and he nods.

"Hello McKinnon." They all say and nod.

"Good team, I must say." Boss says and I smile.

He hands us all a pamphlet of locations and times.

"This is all you need to know. If anything goes wrong, call me and I will send out more of the gang to help you guys. Got it?" He asks us all and we say yes in agreement.

"Hailey can you leave the room for a second?" McKinnon asks and I nod.

"Sure, just don't steal or keep my team waiting for me." I say jokingly and he laughs.

He actually laughs!

I internally have a happy dance in my head.

I walk out and close the door softly behind me.

I wonder why I had to leave the room with my team still in there but okay......

Boss McKinnon's P.O.V:

"Okay people, we need to talk." I say and they all nod.

"What about?" Connor asks and I wave my hand away.

"I want you guys to keep a close eye on Hailey. I was looking at the security footage and this guy, twice mind you, went in her room, then a few minutes later rushes out. Yesterday night, apparently Hailey seen him because I seen her looking out the window with a gun in her hand." I finish and look at Daniel.
I know they like each other a lot so I am expecting that he would come up and say he wants to.

"I-I will." Pharrel stutters and I narrow my eyes at him.

They broke up, I seen the fight. I just hid in a corner so Hailey didn't see me.

She beat him up pretty good, and if that can happen, then I am not having Pharrel watch her.

"No, Daniel what about you?" I ask him and inside I am basically laughing.

"No, Hailey and I aren't on good terms sir." He says and I narrow my eyes at him.

"Boy, when I said that, I didn't mean it as a question. It was a statement and you'll follow my orders." I say sternly and he nods shamefully.

They need to get back normal again, I know Daniel makes her happy, and I love seeing my "daughter" happy.

"Okay, and also, if anything a little weird with Hailey starts happening, you tell me right away." I say and they all but Daniel nod.

Daniel knows what I do to Hailey to make her forget about her family. I told him the reason why and only him.

I also told him that if he were to tell anyone that reason, he would be killed for betrayal.

"Alright, outta my sight now, go prepare for your mission later." I say and they all nod curtly and leave the room.

When am I going to be able to tell Hailey the most important thing.

How she is my real daughter and her mom up and left me.

I wanted to see my baby, Hailey, but Melissa ran away.

I was going to get her back, and I did.

If her Mom and "Dad" were to know that I just stole her, then they would know it was me. So, I did it secretly.

Everyone is still looking for her, but no one knows it was me.

No one ever will either....

If you are confused as to why Hailey is not mixed, it's because she got her Mom's skin tone. She got her Dad's personality and strength.
