Angela practically dragged him back to her house. It was a minute away at most, but it felt like a lifetime for Genji. He was just awkwardly following her, hoping that his hand wouldn't get too sweaty from the nerves. He realised how soft Angela's skin were, and he was tempted to hold her hand a little tighter, but he resisted.
Once they made it, Angela unlocked the door and threw her bag down, before dragging Genji along with her.
"Now don't bother lying to me" She stated, crossing her arms. "Is that a bruise on your neck?" She asked, trying to peak at it. She didn't expect Genji to give in as easily as he did.
"...Yes" He sighed, covering it with his hand.
"May I look at it?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
Genji's face turned a noticeably different shade as his cheeks turned crimson. He tried to reveal it to her whilst wearing the hoodie, but it just wasn't stretchy enough to reveal the whole thing.
"You might have to take that off" She commented, tugging at the black hoodie.
"Oh- I can't!" Genji defensively replied.
"And why is that?"
"I'm not wearing anything under it. Its warm yet I wanted to cover the bruise, so I just put this on" He looked very embarrassed as he scratched the back of his neck, avoiding Angela's gaze.
"Doesn't matter. I won't bite, I'm only trying to help" She pointed out, sitting down on the couch.
Genji didn't say anything else. He complied to Angela's request and took the hoodie off, revealing quite a horrendous bruise on the left side of his neck.
"How on earth did you do this?" She asked, completely baffled.
"I... Got in a fight. I saw someone being bullied, and I tried to stop it" He said. It wasn't like that was a complete lie though, although it was a complete understatement.
He looked down almost like he was ashamed. He felt like the doctor would scold him, tell him that it was non of his business and that he shouldn't get involved.
"Wow. At first I'd thought you'd done something stupid" She lifted his head up by his chin, smiling sweetly at him. His eyes twinkled with hope as the praise really made him felt like what he was doing was worth the pain. "Bruises are typically harder to treat than cuts, so it might sting a little"
Angela placed her pointer fingers on the bruise, and pressed down lightly. The tenderness made Genji shiver uncomfortably, as it caused a little bit of throbbing pain.
"I'm sorry about the pain" Angela commented, sounding sincere.
Genji looked to the side where Angela were, and saw yellow light twinkle out of her fingers. He understood why people referred to her as an angel. He didn't want to be like everyone else to her, he wanted to be a real help. He didn't want to harass her privacy or make her feel uncomfortable like so many others did. She was a human too, and Genji understood that.
"Pretty" He muttered, looking at Angela's concentration face.
"It is, isn't it?" Angela replied, now focusing more on the beams that radiated from her hands.
"I wasn't talking about the lights, but sure" He made an attempt at flirting, looking away in case of rejection.
Angela started blushing, while trying to focusing on the healing. It was a nice atmosphere, both flustered and blushing. Once the wound causing the bruise seemed to be healed, Angela took her fingers off Genji's neck.
"The mark itself will take an hour or so to disappear" She told him, prodding slightly just to make sure there were no pain.
"Really? Damn, you're a miracle worker!" He exclaimed, prodding the bruise himself.
"I'm not a miracle worker... Well, not always" She answered, blushing yet again at the compliment.
"I disagree" He stood up, before turning to a serious tone. "Hey, what do you think of Genji?" He asked, holding his own hand.
"To be honest, I think he's a hero" She replied, standing up next to him. Genji's eyes lit up, knowing that even Mercy, the famous doctor who could revive people, supported his actions.
"I actually read somewhere that you're working with him. I don't mean to be nosy, but-" He started, scratching the back of his head. He obviously already knew the answer, but he was curious as to how she'd answer.
"No. I'm not working with him. Its unfortunate really" Genji smiled wide. Angela Ziegler, the best doctor in the world, actually wanted to help him. Of course she didn't know it was him, but she trusted him. Especially with how he was treating her.
"Huh. The internet gets rumours around quickly" Genji commented, feeling slightly sorry for Angela.
"Yeah. You get used to it though. Its annoying sure, but its part of what I do now" She sighed, grateful for Genji's support.
Genji looked to the side and saw her lose a bit of the energy she had before. She was obviously dragged out and tired of constantly having to put on the doctor persona. This made Genji glad that he covered his face, but he felt really sorry for Angela.
"That reminds me, you should really be careful. There's a group going around attacking people called Genji in hopes of finding the real one" Angela warned, hoping that it wasn't too much of a shock. Genji just laughed.
"I don't have to worry about that. I'm a Shimada, I think they'd rather take their chances." Angela didn't know what this meant, but she didn't ask any questions. "Besides, Genji will save them. Every last one" He sounded determined, a fire in his eyes lit up as he spoke.
"You know what? I believe you" Sincerity in her voice as she replied.
"Thank you" He smiled at her with the same old goofy smile. "Hey, why don't you come to mine tomorrow? I-I can show you around and-"
"Okay! I'd like that"
