Delta's P.O.V:
"Hello mother," I looked at my father, "Father."
"Hello Delta. What do you want?" my mother asked politely.
"I would like to take my brother out to the surface. I feel like it would be a good learning experience for him," I said.
"You are correct," my father said sternly, "Remember to keep a close eye on him. You know he tends to wonder off."
"Yes I know father. Goodbye," I said calmly while swimming away.
I swam to my brother's room and lightly knocked on the door.
"David? Would you like to go to the surface with me?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah," I heard faintly through the door.
I opened his door and saw him sitting on his bed waiting for me. He was only three and struggled getting off of his bed without getting hurt. I smiled at him and picked him up then set him on the ground.
"Follow me," I told him.
He nodded eagerly and followed me to the main gates. I grabbed his hand because he couldn't swim to the surface by himself yet. We live in a large castle underwater. The land folk tend to call it the castle of water. I helped him swim up to ten surface.Once we arrived I helped him up onto a beach I like to go to. Nobody knows that it exist so I claimed it. I like to call it "Delta Beach" sometimes. I helped my little brother up and watched him look around.
"It's so pretty up here Delta!" he said happily.
I mentally laughed at his little kid accent he still had. He can't say r's right and he can't pronounce my name right so he pronounces it like "Del-wa." He picked up some soil and brought it to me.
"This doesn't feel like sand sissy! What is it?" he asked me.
"That's called dirt," I laughed, "Why don't you explore a little bit? You'll probably find way cooler things! Remember to stay in sight okay?"
"Okay!" he said before walking to a near by tree and grabbing some leaves.
I laughed as I sat down by the water. I smiled and looked at the sky. It was partly cloudy but the sun was still showing. I looked down at the ocean. I started bending the water to my own will. My mother can bend water but my father can't. I wonder if my brother can. I turned around and starting looking for him.
"David!" I called.
No response.
"David? Where are you?" I yelled.
Still no response. I started to panic a little bit. I looked around and saw some footprints in the sand. They lead to a forest I haven't explored yet. He must of wondered off while I wasn't looking. I walked quickly into ten forest and started looking for him. I soon heard his laughter and another person talking. I slowly walked toward the sounds. I hid behind a tree and looked into a small meadow. I saw my brother with a dragon! I started breathing heavily and panicking more. What if he gets hurt? What if he dies?! I calmed myself down and approached them. The dragon glared at me.
"Who are you?!" she said loudly and pushed my brother behind her.
I paused and stared for a second. She had blonde hair and fire red eyes. She was wearing a higher class clothing. I assumed she was powerful. She was also very beautiful to me. I didn't know why but something about her just made my heart pause.
"Sissy!" my brother said while walking toward me.
The dragon women calmed down a bit but she was still glaring at me.
"Oh," she said emotionlessly.
"I apologize for my brother here. He tends to wonder off and I should of taken better care of him," I said quickly.
I turned away and grabbed my brother's arm lightly and started walking off.
"Wait," the dragon lady said.
I stopped and looked back at her.
"Who are you?" she asked me.
"I'm Delta, daughter of Merlin and North. You are?" I turned completely around.
"Phoenix, daughter of Flamore and Sabrina," she said loudly.
There was a small silence.
"I better get going and by the way," I glanced back at her,"You're very beautiful."
"Goodbye," she said quickly before blushing slight and flying away.I quickly lead my brother back to the water. I started to lead him under.
"Why are we going back already?" he asked me in a confused tone.
I hesitated before answering.
"It's not safe here," I said sternly.
He made a sad sound before grabbing my hand and walking under water. We started swimming back to the castle. I couldn't stop thinking about Phoenix. We got to the castle and I lead him back to his room. I watched him swim in then quickly swam to mine. I covered my face with a pillow and mentally screamed. I couldn't get Phoenix out of my head! She looked so strong and pretty and stern. I couldn't be liking a dragon! That is wrong! I calmed myself down and figured that I should report what happened to my parents. I swam to my parents room and heard my brother talking. I hid behind my parents door and listened.
"Sissy went and sat by the water so I went to the big brown and green statues. There were so many of them! I heard something so I went to check it out since I'm a big boy now! It was a pretty lady with big wings and blonde hair and red eyes. She was nice to me and made me laugh. Then sissy came and called the lady pretty and-" he was cut off by my father.
"She did what?" he asked with a hint of anger in his voice.
"She called her pretty and she smiled!" my brother answered happily.
"Delta!" my parents yelled at the same time.
My father burst through the door and saw me. I started swimming away and managed to make it to the main gates. I fumbled with the lock but managed to open it fast enough to get away. I forgot to slow down before I hit the surface and ran into someone sitting by the water. It was Phoenix.
