Here I am standing in front of the door to a lily white mansion with expansive grounds laid out before it. The lawn is neatly trimmed, and there are flowers placed impeccably in orderly rows. The mansion looks absolutely stunning, and I'm in awe of how large it is, when I see Kylie snapping her fingers in front of my face. I shove her hand away from my face and glare at her.

"Seriously Alex, you need to stop zoning out."

"I wasn't zoned out, I was just admiring this mansion."

She rolls her eyes and knocks on the large, mahogany doors. Someone around our age opens the door and tells us that everyone is in the backyard of the house, so we make our way through the house. As we walk through, I spot several lavishly decorated rooms with expensive looking furniture and priceless artifacts. I understand why the party is being held outside now, and not inside this house that honestly looks like a mix between a museum, and what the inside of Buckingham Palace would be like because a bunch of drunk teenagers would trash this beautiful house.

Once we make it outside, I closely follow Kylie through the large mass of people until we end up in a less crowded area. Kylie recognizes some people that she knows, so she goes over to them and talks to them. I follow her over, and end up just standing there awkwardly, not wanting to stand around by myself. I zone out for a couple minutes when suddenly, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see Josh standing there, smiling.

"Why hello there. You actually came, I'm impressed. You look nice by the way."

"Thank you, " I respond, blushing slightly. "You'll be less impressed when you know that Kylie practically had to drag me out of the house and into her car to get me to come. I'm just not really a partying kind of person."

Kylie must have heard her name because she scoffs and says, "I wouldn't say practically, I actually had to drag you to my car."

"Oh shush."

She drags me away for a minute and says, "You know that guy I was telling you about that I like? He's over there so I'm going to go talk to him, okay? Will you be alright?"

I laugh, and respond, "I'll be fine, don't worry. Go, have fun."

I return to where Josh is standing when he proposes, "Why don't we go hang out with some of the guys?"

"Sure," I say, offering him a small smile.

The guys consist of mostly of the football team, including Cole, however Blake is off somewhere else, probably with Jason who I haven't seen at the party yet doing. I don't know what he's off doing, and I don't want to know.

Meanwhile, the guys mostly just drink throughout the night, although surprisingly Cole doesn't drink a drop of alcohol.

"I'm surprised you don't drink." I say to him.

"Just because I'm not drinking now doesn't mean that I never drink."

"So you normally drink then?"

"Actually no, I don't um, I don't have good experiences with people being drunk." He says, scratching the back of his neck as though he's uncomfortable. "Now, seeing a little nerd like you drunk though would be funny."

"Yeah no, I don't think so. And just for the record, I'm not little. You're not that much taller than me."

"Yes I am."

"No your not."

"Yes I am."

"No your not."

"Yes I am."

"I'm 5'10", at the most your 6'2" Cole."

He puts a hand over his heart as though he has been wounded, and retorts, "I'll have you know that I'm actually 6'3". I'm still going to call you a little nerd though, so just get used to it."
