Listen to this song while reading. It doesn't relate to the chapter, I've just been listening to 5 Seconds of Summer a lot. Anyways, enjoy!
I went back to school on Monday as if nothing had happened. Courtney didn't bother me because I think she realized that she had gone a little too far for once. Actually, make that way too far.
Meanwhile, it seemed everyone was busy. Blake, Jacob, and Cole had football practice everyday after school, and Kylie decided to audition for the school musical. She ended up getting the lead role of Belle in Beauty in the Beast. I love that story, so I'm actually looking forward to seeing it.
I spent more time with Ian because it turns out he's on the mathletes team as well. Most of practice consisted of learning new complex math concepts and doing practice problems. Most days I would go home with Cole and Blake because my practice ended at around the same time as theirs, and days when I didn't have practice, I would just do homework in the library until they were ready to leave.
Despite the fact that nothing eventful had happened during the week, I was nonetheless relieved when I woke up Saturday morning to the sound of my brother playing Halo downstairs, with the television turned up to the maximum volume.
I brushed my hair as well as my teeth before heading downstairs in my Mickey mouse pajama pants and a Toronto Maple Leafs shirt to eat breakfast. I didn't even notice Cole was there as well until I heard him say, "Nice pajama pants Nerd."
I ignored him as usual and poured myself a bowl of cereal. I ate while watching them play for a few minutes, before going back upstairs to read for a while. After a couple hours, I heard the sound of a soccer ball being kicked around in the backyard. I went outside and stood in the doorway as I watched them kick the ball around. It brought back memories of Daniel and I, playing soccer outside.
Blake noticed me standing in the doorway and waved me over. For the rest of the afternoon, we passed the ball to each other and played against each other while telling each other dumb jokes.
We went back inside and I ordered a pizza. When the doorbell rang, I rushed over to the door because I was hungry. I was surprised though, when I saw Josh holding a pizza box.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, with a puzzled expression evident on my face.
"I deliver pizza for Pizza King, remember? That's how we formally met, I delivered a pizza to you."
"Oh right, I remember! Sorry, I completely blanked."
He smiles, and says, "It's alright. Goodnight Alexis." He hands me the pizza, and turns around to leave when he suddenly turns around. "Oh wait sorry I was going to ask you this at school on Monday, but um, would you like to– do you want to maybe come with me Wednesday night to this restaurant with me?"
"What are you trying to say Joshua Green?", I ask, teasing him a bit.
His cheeks turn a slight shade of red as he stumbles, "W-would you go out with me on a date?"
I smile at him, "Of course, I would love too."
"I'll um text you the details later, bye for now." He says, smiling at me.
"Goodnight Josh."
I close the front door and place the pizza on the coffee table in front of Cole. "What took you so long Nerd?"
I narrow my eyes at him. "None of your business blockhead."
"I think it is, brainiac."
"Hmm," I say, pretending to consider it. "How about no, dingo."
