Chapter 10-Hospital and Research

Toshiro's POV

I awoke, facing Captain Unohana, who was smiling gently..

"..Captain.."

"Hello, Toshiro..how are you feeling?"

I was lying on a hospital bed complete with white curtains and bedding..As everything around me came back into focus, I realised that

someone..(probably Unohana) had closed the hospital curtains around the bed.

I remembered why I had gone to see her and tried to push myself up

"Momo...I must .."..I collapsed back onto my bed..

"..Don't worry about Momo..I'm taking care of her now, she's going to be okay, Toshiro.." She smiled gently

I smiled in relief..."Thank god for that.." I muttered

"Huh?" she asked, a hint of giggling in her voice..

I sweatdropped.."It's nothing" I said, acting serious.."Nothing at all.. " I blushed a bit and turned my head away from Unohana, embarrassed..


Unohana's POV

Toshiro has always been like that..when it comes to admitting his own feelings, especially for Momo, he gets all embarrassed and aloof..

When is he going to confess to her?..I thought to myself..Oh well.

I decided that it was best to get down to business as Toshiro felt all awkward about the Momo thing..

"So Toshiro..?"

"What is it, captain?" he still looked annoyed but eyed me, though looked curious as to what I was going to ask..I had a feeling though that he was already aware of what I was going to say..

"...What exactly happened..?..I've never seen you so panicky.."

Toshiro narrowed his eyes in irritance and looked down..He looked as if he was ashamed of himself or wasn't sure how to explain what he had seen..I suspected it was the former of the two..though the injuries Momo had received did not seem typical of any creature that lived in the soul society..

Mayuri's POV

I called over Utikate while the head captain was still making a decision...

"Captain Utikate..."..

"...Yes Captain Kurotsuchi?" he asked..

"..That boy...comes from a different plane than the one Kurosaki came from, doesn't he?"

The captain's eyes widened as if to say, 'How did you know that'..

I smiled.."..I thought so..the outfit he's wearing is not one typical of the world of the living we know..."

The captain nodded.."Yes, he's from a different world from Ichigo Kurosaki.."

"I see.." There was a moment of silence between the both of us, while I contemplated on what he and the boy had just said..The boy had mentioned he had ice powers..he could manipulate ice...

"I wonder.."

"Huh?" asked the captain..

"...Do you think that I could possibly..?"

The captain's face turned a colour...that probably couldn't be described..

"Well, Captain Kurotsuchi..we'll have to see if he is interested in joining us to start with.."

He walked away..

...What is it with everyone in the Soul society and my research?? Oh well, I have plenty of research subjects already..I suppose I could wait until the time is right..I thought to myself

Although it would be nice to know about the source of his power as no human I've came across from Kurosaki's world seems to possess such an ability...



The head captain suddenly coughed loudly..He had finished thinking..
