Chapter 3- Similarities and regrets

Momo's pov
..There was another huge bang and then a surge of coldness around me..I could feel blood trickling down most of my body and I unintetionally swayed.
I then heard the slashing of a sword , a CRASH and another BANG...I opened my eyes to see what was going on...but everything was blurry all around me- I assumed that it was due to me losing a lot of blood during the fight..but that slashing of a sword....I didn't think I had slashed again...as I didn't feel physically strong enough to do so...I swayed again, and fell to the ground...
"Momo......!" I heard a voice cry...."Please...Hang in there...."
That voice...It sounded familar....I felt coldness..."T-thank you...." I gasped....then gasped for breath and the last thing I saw was pair of turquiose eyes looking at me in desperation and sadness.....then I blacked out... and felt no more...

Haku's POV
I was still sitting and listening to the Captain..I had found out that the garden we were sitting in, chatting, was called Ugendo's garden. I also learnt that the soul reapers of the soul society had different ranks, like how our own shinobi system did based on abilities, the soul society had different parts to it aside from the sertei , was ruled by the soul king and had different laws, one of which was broken a few years ago by a member of his squad, Rukia Kuchiki.. 
She gave a teenage boy her powers to use against a beast called a hollow ,ended up getting into loads of trouble with the Soul society and was given a date for execution...However, it turned out that there was more to the teenager than was thought..He seemed to have abilities of his own...and he and his friends infiltrated Soul society to save Rukia from being excecuted...ever since then, things changed in Soul society...The teenager's name was Ichigo Kurosaki..and was known as 'The subsitute soul reaper' he was determined, protective of anyone he considered his friends and had orange spiky hair.....
I smiled and chuckled at the 'orange spiky hair' bit. That teenager Ichigo somewhat reminded me of that boy Naruto I'd met...he was determined and protective too...and had spiky hair....! 
"He also reminded me...of one of my former subordinates...My lieutenant, Kaien Shiba..He was a lot like him in many ways..."The captain smiled at the thought of his deceased lieutenant..
I smiled..."It's funny, you should say that, that boy I met....just before I died...he reminded me...of what I've heard about the fourth hokage of the leaf village...Blonde hair, drive, spirit, determination..."
The captain smiled even though I hadn't told him about ninja terminology yet and what a hokage was..."It's strange how that sometimes happens, isn't it...? How some people have so much in common..even if they don't know each other personally.."
I nodded, "It certainly is.." 
I continued to sit and listen with interest to what Captain Ukitake had to say about the soul society.He informed me about the different concepts of fighting within the soul society such as kido, Zanjutsu, zanpacto usage and states(shikai and Bankai), bakudo and many others. He also informed me about plus souls and hollows.
"Well...that's everything, I guess" he said, smiling gently...and then he turned to me.."So, Haku..I know about your past with your master, Zabuza..." I looked down, sadly...even now, in the presence of the Captain who was really friendly and kind, I still missed Master Zabuza who had been kind enough to take me in when I was alone and had no purpose..."I hope you don't mind..but could you tell me about the ninja world?"
"Not at all Captain...." I smiled softly then narrowed my eyes in concentration..."Mm..Now...where should I start..?"

Toshiro's Pov
"Momo!!" I cried....I held her in my hands...she was bleeding all over and had blacked out...a surge of panic fell across me......I..couldn't protect her...she'd gotten into this condition because I hadn't been there quickly enough....a tear fell from my eye, but I wiped it away- no..I didn't want the captains of the sertei or lieutenants from that matter to see me like this..It wasn't becoming of a captain of the thirteen court guard squads. I stood up cautiously, still holding Momo...What was that Damn beast...? It had a marking in the middle of it's head that was oval shaped, red and had several tomoe within it's design..and it was hideous to look at. I felt energy radiating from it...powerful energy...no wonder that Momo had trembled before it and was beaten so easily...it's energy may surpass the level of captains..and I probably couldn't beat it on my own..It would probably take several captains to defeat it...I narrowed my turquoise eyes in annoyance..I decided that the best thing to do was to take Momo back to the soul society and ask her what she knew about it, once she was able to be questioned. I would also be able to provide information about the beast, having battled it to protect her.

I reviewed the facts I knew in a calm manner aloud to myself..
1. It was exceptionally powerful
2. The marking on it's forehead seemed to possess some kind of power
3. It would take lots of captains to bring it down
4.It was big in size and seemed to have no emotions
5. Energy seemed to be radiating from it...

Energy...?....Yes I thought to myself...It was some kind of energy...It didn't feel like Spiritual energy....What form of energy was it?...
6. It could fire huge purple powerful balls at it's opponents which were extremely destructive
7. It could create water to attack
8. It could create earthquake like tremors..
9. It was extremely fast despite it's huge size and had attacked Momo at extreme speeds with little time for her to be able to counter attack it...
Overall, I summarized that it wouldn't be easy to beat...and that it probably hadn't shown all of it's abilities yet. "Damn....."I muttered to myself in frustration...Yet again, I proved that I couldn't protect her...what good was I as a soul reaper captain ...or Momo's friend.....if I couldn't protect her?..I screwed up my face in frustration at my helplessness..I was supposed to be a boy prodigy..The youngest of the soul reapers within the soul society that became a captain of the thirteen court guard squads..I was supposed to be strong...yet how...why?...Why did I always fail when it came to protecting the one I loved....the one who I vowed I would always protect..Momo's my ray of light, so cheerful ,friendly and kind...and what have I been to her? Cold as ice....and Distant...
A tear dropped from my eye and I screwed up my face once again...
No. I had to take her back to the soul society...I pulled myself together and, still holding Momo in my arms..started to head back to the soul society, running at a very fast pace, in the hope that the creature wouldn't see me..Suddenly there was a loud BANG...
I turned around to see a bright light behind the beast...what was this light I could see...?..I saw a figure in the distance...a dark figure...it looked like a man....and it seemed to be moving quite near to the beast..as if he was friendly with it....or associated with it....or.....he was the one who had summoned it here....?..I moved away, running faster and faster hoping that he wouldn't see me, as I had doubts that he did see me that he'd let me get away.In addition, if he had summoned that creature, then he was no pushover in a fight and if it would take lots of soul reapers to take the beast down, I had no doubt in my mind that he would be as hard, if not harder to defeat.
