There she stood, glancing at herself in the tiny mirror, a thin tube, taped to her cheek, going up the nose, and the rest is in her body. The tube was connected to a little plastic box, that was on one of those wheely things they normally hook up the IV bags too. She didn't understand what everyone was all seeing. She saw scarred, fat body. She didn't deserve to eat. She had a right to her opinion. They started her on 300 Calories a day, Shrink said the calories will move up more as her body adjusts to it, considering the pain in her stomach.
As Adeline continued to look at herself in the mirror, she became more and more insecure. She couldn't let people see her like this! What if her family came and made fun of her, even though they're the reason she's wearing the stupid thing.
"How is it feeling, Adeline?" A doctor she didn't recognize said, startling her a little bit.
"I want it out."
"I know, but you aren't getting enough in you, and you're way under weight."
"It hurts, and it's really uncomfortable." Adeline said, rubbing the tips of her fingers against the tube.
"It will be. For awhile, but I promise you'll get used to it." Shrink said, smiling like he understood.
Adeline just ignored him, enough to where he just left because he knew she wasn't listening anyway. She dragged her IV stand to the window, sitting down in her usual spot. As she watched the usual cars, and people; one time someone noticed her and waved. At least, she thought they were waving at her. Just wanting out. She sees the wind blowing, but is unable to feel it, the sun, behind the clouds, the obviously fake, green grass. She had to be watched, basically all the time now, due to the tubes on hooked up, because her first thought was to choke herself? Haha okay. She feels herself start to slowly feel full, and the feeling disgusted her.
