After getting settled in yesterday I pasted out. The house was even bigger on the inside.
The only thing I could think about right now is the alarm that is still going off on my night stand. I reached over and hit the snooze button. I wished so much that I didn't have to start senior year off at another school.
Today is going to be one stressful day. Filled with morons and those who think they are the queens and kings of this place.
"Jess get up! You're going to be late!" I groaned at the statement. "It's your first day! Come on!"
"I'm up! I'll be down in a minute." I got out of bed and got dressed for the day ahead.
While taking a shower all that went through my head was haunting questions. Like 'what if someone talks to me.' or 'What if I make a fool of myself.'
Mom busted through my thoughts once again telling me to come down stairs. I got out and dried off.
Looking into my closet I decided to wear a Metallica t-shirt and a pair of washed out blue skinny jeans pairing it all with my black converse.
I grabbed my back-pack and walked down the stairs finding my mom sitting there drinking a cup of coffee. Grabbing me a cup to go I gave her a kiss on the head and walked out the door.
Before the door closed my mother yells out, "Hey, i'm going on a business trip for a few weeks. Love you honey!"
Closing the door without saying a word I sighed knowing this meant she won't be home when I got back today. She won't be home for what could be months. Just like the last time.
The school was bigger than I'm use to. I got lost trying to find the office. When I finally found it they sat me down in the principals office and he talked to me for about 20 minutes giving me my schedule.
"Umm... Mr. Matthews can I have a map of the school? I kinda got lost trying to find the office in this place." I asked politely.
"OH! Of course." He opens up one of his drawers and brings out a paper. "Here you go sweetie. Sorry you got lost on your way here. Once you get use to it it won't be as bad."
"Thank you, Mr. Matthews." I waved a goodbye and started towards my first period.
Walking into the class was the worst feeling ever. Everyone was staring at me, some started talking. I was hoping and praying it wasn't about me, but deep down I knew it was. Who wouldn't be taking about the random new kid who just walked into the room.
Mentally facing palming myself I walked over to the desk and the teacher automatically got excited. Being me I was confused, but apparently I wasn't the only one.
The man calmed himself down and spoke, "Steph told me you were coming!" This man sounded a little too excited.
I stood there nervous and uncomfortable.
"Oh my bad, Jess it's me, your Great Uncle, George." Then it hit me. Yea now it was obvious who he was, but still.
"Hey, George." I whispered. "Can I sit down now?" I Looked down toward the floor as he shook his head.
Walking over to the empty desk in the back I took my seat and stayed there through out the rest of the period.
The first three period flew by. I'm just glad it's lunch cause now I can go to the diner. Getting on to my motorcycle was a breath of fresh air.
The wind rushed past my face as well as the people on the sidewalks. The buildings and streets past by in a blur. This was most certainly the best part of my day.
Pulling into the diner parking lot, I saw the lady who gave me the job yesterday. Running up to her I tapped her on the shoulder.
"Umm Hey. I'm the girl..."
I was cut off before I could finish.
"Jess! What are you doing here? You don't have to be in until 3:30."
I smiled and said, "I'm here for lunch. I'm glad to help out with lunch though. I have a few minutes."
"That's great. Delila is sick. Poor girl. Anyways come on in I'll get you your uniform." Walking in behind her we went to the back. Grabbing a box she pulled out a few shirts.
"You're a medium in shirts and a size 8 in shorts, right? I can't remember what your mom said."
"Yes ma'am that's right," She hands me a button up shirt and a pair of black shorts. "Thanks."
"No problem honey. Now here's a tie and bow tie. You can wear either one. I leave you to changing."
She started to walk out but I stopped her before she could go any further. "Ma'am what's your name?"
"Oh, baby doll just call me Big Momma." She smiles and shuts the door.
Changing into my uniform I grabbed my notepad and a pen. Fixing my tie I came out of the back and into the diner.
There weren't a whole lot of people in there. Thank goodness I thought to myself. I went over to and elderly couple and asked," What can I get you folks today?"
"Yes we would like our usual. Please and Thank you."
"Okay may I ask you for your names? I'm new here." I gave them apologetic look.
"Oh my, yes. We are the Henderson's." I nodded and wrote their names down and went up to the kitchen putting up the order.
Time flew by. I had about twenty-five minutes left before I needed to get changed and leave back to the school.
The door to the diner opened and took me out of my thoughts. There was the sight I've seen all over school today.
The bad boys.
