Demitri's p.o.v

The warning bells were sounded and Gwen and I both jumped up. We ran to the door and slammed it open. Elliott and Smith were on their way to up us.

"Demitri the packs are here. They made it to the castle walls. Our people and warriors are already fighting back."

Elliott says clearly out of breath. Smith just looks at me with worry in his eyes. He can't speak because of what the packs did to him.

Flashback

I was wandering around the land my newly made kingdom owns when a little dirty blond pup runs up to me. This pup is the size of a real wolf pup. He shouldn't be this small let alone able to shift.

He runs up and whimpers before me. I am only 15 and this little pup is probably only 9 or 10. Tears come out of his eyes as he shakes in fear.

I shift back and walk towards the pup. He is so small. When I lay down before him I hold my hand out to him.

"It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you little one."

I tell him softly as he sniffs my hand. He shifts back and before me is a small boy. He is bloodied and bruised. Dirt covers his skin. His hair is dirty blonde and his eyes are green. The blonde hair is matted, tangled, and oily. He probably hasn't had a bath on weeks.

"I'm Demitri, what's your name?"

I ask him as he looks at me. He curls himself into a ball on the forest floor.

"S-smith."

He tells me and I nod.

"What are you doing out here buddy?"

I ask him as I stay put. I rest my hand under my chin as I wait for his response.

"The packs. T-they hurt me s-so I ran."

He spoke softly back.

"What about your family?"

I ask him and some more tears fall out of his eyes.

"My mother was forced to mate the alpha because that's who he chose. My father was so broken he tried to kill the alpha which got him killed. My sister was killed because she helped me escape."

He says as he begins to cry some more. I sit up and move closer to the boy. He let's me sit next to him and pull him into my side.

"It's okay. Do you want to come home with me and I'll help take care of you?"

I ask smith and he nods. As he stands I notice how frail his body is. You can count each of his ribs. This boy is just skin and bone.

"I'm going to carry you."

I tell him as I pick him up. I place one arm under his butt and the other around his back. He lays his head on my chest as I walk back to camp.

Later that day we were attacked by the packs. I fought off as many as I could but one of them got into Smiths tent. I was to late because when I got there smith already had his tounge severed.

He was crying as blood spewed out of his mouth. I quickly shifted and ran over to him after I killed the wolf. In the end, he had to have his tounge removed.

Flashback over

"We know. Are you ready to fight?"

I ask them and they nod. Smith has been wanting to get revenge on the packs for as long as I knew them. He hopes to be able to take the tounge of a prisoner and have it transplanted into his mouth so he would be able to speak again.

"Okay let's do this thing."

Gwen said and we all bolted out of that hallway. We looked down in the main area of the castle to see a bloodied mess everywhere.

"Screw it."

Gwen muttered as she walked back a little ways. She ran and jumped over the edge; shifting as she fell into the crowded battle below. She landed on a pack members back and began to fight.

"Let's do this."

Eli said as all three of us men did the same thing as my mate. It's time for battle.
