Everything around Paige was moving slowly. She saw the night falling it’s dark curtains on earth and street birds chirping on the roof of her house. But she didn’t wanted to switch on the lights. After Jayden left her alone in the house, she sat on the kitchen table automatically. She was so sure now that she wants to be with him. But everything was over now. Everything was over because of her foolishness. She was a fool to think that he was only a friend. She was a fool to tell that loudly. She was a fool to let him go. She wanted to stay away from everything. The more she was realizing that she hurt him the more she wanted to stay in darkness. Paige hid her face in her hands cried again. And it was then the heard a familiar voice from the darkness.
“Hello Rose!” it was a woman’s voice.
“What do you want?” she asked even without realizing that she called her Rose.
“I could tell this is not the perfect timing to appear. But how could I stay away from you?” the voice said.
Suddenly Paige remembered everything. The corridor, the lady in the black dress, the coldness of the air and her lost phone. And Jayden too.
“Why are you here?” Paige stood up shaking. Her white color silk blouse couldn’t protect her from the coldness around her.
“Do I need to answer that my little Rose?” she said Laughing lightly.
“I’m not your little Rose. Go away and leave me alone.” Paige screamed.
“I can’t darling. “She said.
Paige cursed herself for the hundredth time for being a foolish and not switching on any lights. She slowly moved to the direction of stairs holding things around her.
“Don’t try to go away from me.” The woman said fiercely.
Paige froze and tried to find the woman. But she couldn’t see anything except the darkness. Then she heard it again right behind her ear. She tried to cover her ears and close her eyes. She felt her. She felt the coldness of death from the person who was standing next to her.
“You have to come to me.” The woman said.
“Oh my god!” Paige said to herself.
“God is not going to help you Rose.” The woman said.
“Oh my God!” Paige said again. Then she suddenly remembered her phone. She slowly reached to her pocket and took the phone. The dim light from the phone screen fell on her face and it frighten her more. The dialed the number of Alyssa from her shaking fingers. She heard the familiar beep of her phone ringing and waited until someone pick it.
“You think I’m a fool. Right?” Then she heard that voice. Paige threw her phone away like it burned her hand. She wanted to go away and she ran. She ran without even knowing where she was running. She wanted to find the door to go outside and cursed everything which was blocking her way. She screamed, cried and yelled hoping someone will hear her. And it was then she hit something hard. Something hard and icy cold. It wasn’t something. It was someone and it was the last person she wanted to hit. She fell on the floor hardly.
“You wanna play with me Rose? Okay no problem.” Said the woman wickedly and Paige felt she was lifting in the air and then she flew through the room and hit a wall hardly. Paige felt her bones cracking under her skin and the pain wan unbearable. She prayed to God laying there unable to move. She thought the woman was gone but she heard the footsteps again.
“Come on Rose. I just started to play but you are broken. Let me show you more.” The woman laughed and it filled the atmosphere making Paige’s heart beat faster. This time she dragged her on the floor from her hair. She cried from pain and wished to fall unconscious. But nothing worked for her. Paige felt her body was dying slowly and heard the wicked laughter of the woman from the distance. Finally she closed her eyes falling into the endless darkness.
