sydney: well how do i need to dress?
ethan: not too fancy
sydney: got it ;)
sydney put on a pair of skinny jeans and slightly oversized t-shirt, tucking it into the waistband. she left her dark hair down, shaking it too give a messy effect, and applied a full face of makeup, including contour. after getting there and settling in, she realized that ethan and her mother had been contacting one another. she had grilled him with questions before joining her on the trip. of course, she chose to busy herself with other activities while the two teenagers spent time together.
a knock at the hotel room door got sydney out of her seat quickly, and she looked through the hole in the door to see that it was ethan standing there in a cut off shirt and ripped jeans.
so much for my dressing down.
she thought before opening the door so they could see each other face to face. he lit up once he saw her, embracing her for a moment. she loved the feeling, so much so that she stated it out loud.
"i want to stay in your arms forever." he pulled away, looking her in the eyes and smirking. sydney felt her face heat up quickly, immediately regretting it. silently, of course.
"let's, uhhh, just go." she urged. he chuckles and let's her lead the way out of the hotel. ethan has his car parked outside, the engine still running. he graciously opens the passenger door for sydney as she gets in, stunned.
"nice car." she clears her throat as they buckle in. he only nods curtly in reply, pulling out of the lot.
"soooo where are we going?"
"you'll see." ethan winks at her, making her knees want to buckle and her lungs want to scream for air. as they drive, he rolls down the windows, causing her hair to blow around in the late afternoon wind. sydney glances at ethan and catches him grinning slightly.
"what are you smiling at?" she snickers, brushing her fingers on his hand as it rests on the center console.
"nothin." he replies coolly, looking as though he's blushing.
"whatever you say."
"you know it angel."
hearing him say it in person gave her a whole new perspective on the nicknames. it made it feel all the more real, and she began to realize that this isn't a dream. she, sydney allison mcallister, is sitting in a car with her idol, and has been texting him for months, letting him take her to god knows where.
all she could do on the ride was admire him from the passenger seat.
a/n: aww, s'cute
