Chapter 9

"Kendall, babe, get up we are landing soon" Kenneth woke me.

I looked out the window and saw the clouds. I turned around to face Kenneth, I saw the way he was looking at me, I loved it.

Once we got off, me and Kenneth went to get our bags then meet up with my cousin that was picking us up.

"Kendall!" I turned around searching for that familiar voice. There he was, my cousin Jhay.

"Jhay!! I went running to him to hug him. I haven't seen him ever since him and my granny visited America when I was little. We were so close.

"Ahh! Kenny!" I jumped into his arms.

"Hi I'm jhay" he introduced himself to Kenneth.

"Hey I'm Kenneth." They shook hands.

"Yeah they talk about you guys." Jhay said.

"What do you mean?" I asked him confused.

"Like your the girl that lives in America, lives the famous life everyone wants." Wow that's how my family sees me.

"Let's go?" He asked.

"Yeah let's go." Kenneth said.

"Here let me help you." He grabbed one of the suitcases. We got into jhays car, he drove us to our granny's house.

The Philippines is so beautiful.

I've never been to the Philippines before. I've seen pictures of my mother here.

Once jhay pulled up to the house, I got out. Kenneth, jhay, and me went to get the bags out of the back.

"Kenny!" I turned around and saw my granny, she came walking out of the house.

"Granny!" I walked up to her and she pulled me into a tight hug.

"Ah how long has it been!" She said in a thick Filipino accent.

"A long time!"

"Is this your boyfriend?" She asked and pointed to Kenneth.

"Yes granny this is Kenneth." Kenneth walked up to her and held her hand up to his forehead to bless her.

"Ah I like him already!"

"I had your cousin prepare your room!" She stepped to the side. "Let's go!" She grabbed my hand and led us inside. We walked down the hallway.

The hallway had pictures hanging up on the walls, I saw a couple of my mother.

"This is it" she led me into me and Kenneth's room.

Kenneth put our stuff down.

"I'll let you guys get settled" she left the room.

"Oh my god" I pulled Kenneth by his shirt closer to me. I looked into his eyes. He seemed tried. His eyes didn't seem as bright anymore.

Kenneth's pov

I looked into Kendall's eyes and I didn't see the eyes I fell in love with. She smiled, but that wasn't the smile I fell in love with years ago.

Why don't I understand you?

Why do you prefer night from day?

Why do you have the sweetest voice but say the most harmful words?

These things don't add up with you anymore. I'm trying, and your not helping.

After all those years I've only thought about you.

The first few years we were together I've tried nothing but make you fall in love with me like I did you.

But you were afraid to have your heart broken, so you pretended you didn't have one.

Now I have your heart, and I'm trying my best not to break it.

When I first meet you, you had no light in your eyes, you felt nothing.

Now, I'm the reason you feel, I'm the reason you have that light in your eye,

I'm afraid once I leave, that will all die.

"I love you" she told me,

"I love you too." I didn't know if I was lying. I don't know anymore. I can't break her, not again.

"Hey Kendall." I turned to see who called her.

"Omg mark!" Kendall let go of me and walked over to the guy that stood at the doorway.

They hugged.

"Kenneth, this is mark, we use to be like best friends as a kid! But then he moved to the Philippines." She explained their friendship.

"Hey I'm Kenneth, Kendall's boyfriend" he seemed shocked once I said boyfriend.

He reached out to shake my hand.

"I got to go Kendall I have to go back to work I just heard you were in town I thought I should say hey, I've missed you." He pulled her into a hug. Um? Okay?

"I've missed you too." She smiled. Their hug lasted a while, that wasn't awkward for me at all.

After he left the room, Kenneth turned at to face me.

"You okay?" She asked me.

"Of course." I told her.

"I'm gonna go for a walk." I said.

"What me to come?"

"No you could just stay and unpack or something. Gotta go" I walked out of the room Leaving her clueless.

I walked down the street. I ended up at a park.

I sat down on a bench. I took out my phone to play music. Oh fuck, my phones dead.

"Hey" I heard a voice from behind me.

"Um hi" a girl sat down next to me.

"I'm Jennifer." She told me her name that I didn't even ask for.

"I'm Kenneth."

"Uh where have I heard that name? Oh well" this bitch.

"Wanna go for a walk?" She asked me.

"Um why not." We stood up from the park bench. The first few minutes of us walking both of us didn't say anything.

"Oh wait! Now I know! Your Kendall's boyfriend." Oh my fucking god.

"Yeah"

"I'm her cousin" she said. Kendall told me that she had a crap load of cousins.

"Oh cool."

"Where are you guys staying?" She asked me.

"Her grandmothers house"

"I live there" she said, I don't care. It's not that I don't like her, I'm just not in the mood.

"Wanna go back to the house?" I asked her.

"Yeah!" We turned around and went walking home.
