My eyes widened, "Minjae? What–"
"I decided to drop by and surprise you, Taeng." My husband cut off my words. I hurry over to him and hug him. I lean over to peck his cheek then he suddenly turns his face and I end up kissing him full on the lips.
I tried to lean away from our liplock because we weren't alone. Baekhyun was still here with us. It wasn't appropriate to do this in front of him.
Minjae must've noticed my resistance because he held my waist tighter and forced his tongue into my mouth. The kiss lasted two more minutes until he pulled away. I was left breathless and confused. What was that?
"Whose this guy, baby?" Minjae breathed out, his eyes already trained on Baekhyun. The air grew thicker.
"That's Baekhyun. He's the one I told you I was helping, remember?" I whispered to him.
"Baekhyun from EXO? You look much different in person. Nice to meet you. I'm her husband, Minjae." He said.
"Nice to meet you. I've heard so many things about you from Taeyeon."
"I hope they are all good things."
"Of course they are." I said and smiled up at Minjae. I lowered it when I glanced at the vocalist.
Minjae kissed my cheek, "Mind if I steal her away for a few minutes."
The singer gave a tiny smile, a forced one, "Nope."
"Thanks, man." He pushes my body out the door. I catch sight of Baekhyun's face in the mirror. His downcasted gaze locks with mine.
"That's the guy you used to date" Minjae lowly chuckled. "He isn't very good looking." He had a piercing stare.
"W-what?"
"Why did you lie, huh? Didn't want me to know that you were with him behind my back."
"I didn't lie...I told you about him and it isn't like that. This is just work." I explained to him. The look in his eyes wouldn't subside.
"Was it just work when you fucked him? Or is that how you work?" His words cut through my heart. Is that how he sees me?
"Answer me!" He shouted at me, gritting his teeth. I'm at a loss of words. I stand frozen in my spot. My eyes burning from upcoming tears.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Someone interrupted. Minjae grunts and storms off down the dimly lit hallway of the floor.
I let out a shaky breath between my lips once he disappears.
"Are you okay?" I blink my tears away quickly.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I fake a smile.
"We just had an argument. We'll be fine." I tried not to shutter. The stranger stands with me for a few seconds before they walk off, hesitantly.
We will work it out. I know it.
