There was this unusual heaviness hanging from the freshness of the spring season.

The moist droplets gliding down windows in the nights like tears.

I sat with the members at a cafe. We are celebrating the end of promotions with a mini cake enough for each one of us.

Although we are sitting together at a wooden table. One of us seems to be elsewhere.

Almost untouchable.

The person with us looks like Taeyeon but isn't. We all knew Taeyeon, the different emotions and parts of her personality that she would reveal. All those parts are what made her unique in her own right. She was far more than labels placed on her such as Girls' Generation leader or Shin Minjae's wife.

She's Kim Taeyeon, first.

Yet that name didn't match up with the person in front of me. The smile stretched across her lips, the reserved mannerism, and lower tone.

It didn't seem that the other members noticed the alternations of Taeyeon's personality.

How she was glued to her phone and disappeared when it ringed once never twice.

We haven't spoken a sincere word to each other since I saw those purple marks on her thighs.

I wanted to know why she had them. I wanted to hear the reason from her. For her to tell me an answer that was different from this sickening feeling boiling in the pit of my stomach.

The way she reacted when I tried to pry it out of her. Her angry outburst contradicted the flash of shame and pain in her gaze.

And I didn't know what to do.

What if I pursued her and she would shut herself off from me.

What if I don't do anything and something horrible happens to her.

I would never forgive myself.

"I have to go." Taeyeon announced.

"Why? We just got here." Yuri tilted her head up at Taeyeon.

Taeyeon only slightly smiled at her then mumbled, "I made a promise."

She gathered her bag and placed her coat on her arm. "I'll see you guys later." The silver bell near the door ringed her exit from the cafe.

I stared at the door, the ring from the bell still resounding in my ears. The conversation amongst the members start again after she leaves. The contents of their conversations are drowned out by my thoughts to the point that two hours pass by in the blink of an eye.

"Hey, are you coming?" I feel a nudge against my right shoulder. I blink a few times before turning my attention onto Jessica.

"Where?"

"Home...didn't you hear Sunny?" The ends of her lips curved up then dropped down into a straight line. Her eyebrows knitted together, "Are you okay? You seem a little distracted."

A little was an understatement.

"Yeah." I smile. "Let's go." I rise from my seat and walk a few steps towards the door before Jessica speaks again.

"You're worried about Taeyeon too, aren't you?" I immediately stop walking.

Too?

Did she notice her change?

I glance over my shoulder at Jess. Her eyes are downcasted and her features form into a worried expression. Her usual ice princess demeanor missing from the scene.

A tune ripped through the air. Jessica pulled out her iPhone from her handbag. Her eyes narrow in on the number displayed on the screen. Her finger hovers over the answer icon.

"Why aren't you answering?"

Jessica eyebrows knitted together and she shows me her phone. The number that spread across the screen was very familiar.

Moonless. A word that I stumbled upon by accident. The perfect word for the dark love (or otherwise loveless relationship between Minjae and Taeyeon). This concludes Tiffany's point of view of watching a friend in trouble. How would you feel or act if you knew your friend was in trouble? Who do you think is calling? Minjae? Or someone else.

This chapter wasn't planned so it took me a few days to figure out my direction. I decided to add it to get a different perspective. What do you think?
