Chapter 18: Stood Up

Joey's POV:

It's 4:30 pm and I'm so excited to see Shane again! Oh my gosh, 30 more minutes until I meet him at that restaurant Republique in L.A! I am so excited, I really want to tell him some things. I am all ready to go. I'm wearing a navy blue suit, a light long-sleeved shirt, with a dark gray vest over it, and daayyummm, I look hot! Haha. I Imagine Shane will look even better. Maybe I should leave right now. I know I'm a little early, but that wouldn't hurt, right? No, it'll only hurt if I'm late. I guess I'll leave now since it takes a while to get there. Ahhh! I'm freaking out. Shane is so amazing! Should I text him right now? No, I'll just text him when I get there. Alright, let's go!!! ---

I finally arrive at Republique after 17 whole minutes of driving. I'm inside right now, waiting at a table, alone, but I'm just a little early. Shane will be here soon. Oh gosh, it's almost 5. I can't wait to see his perfect face. I take my phone out of my pocket and I text Shane.

Joey: Hey <3 I'm here, where r u?? c:

I waited a few minutes, but he didn't text me back. Maybe I should call him instead. Riiiiiing, Riiiiing... Oh my gosh, why isn't Shane answering me? I decided to wait a little while, maybe he's just in traffic. I spent the next 30 minutes straightening out the table cloth and placing silverware perfectly. I was just nervous, and I was touching everything and I swear this is like my 6th cup of water. The waiter came over to me.

Waiter: Uh, sir, would you like to order now?

Joey: Oh uh no, Im just waiting for someone.

Waiter: You've been here for a while....

Joey: I know, they're just running late you know? Traffic...

I hope that's the reason why he's not here yet... What if he wont come? No, he wouldn't do that to me...

Waiter: Oh, okay.

The waiter walked off and I pulled out my phone. I called Shane for the 5th time and he didn't even answer. If he was in traffic, he would at least of let me known. Why didn't he answer? I texted him once again.

Joey: Shane! Ive been waiting for almost an hour... where r u boi? :(

.... and again....

Joey: Shane I hope u r okay, but why aren't you here?! >:(

Oh come on!!! It's 6:45 pm and Ive been here wayyyy too long. Waiting almost 2 hours for someone at this weird restaurant is ridiculous. I cant believe Shane didn't come. He said he would be here, on time too! Well, he's not here at all, and he hasn't texted me or anything! What If he got in a car accident? Or got hurt? No, don't feel sorry for him, he has to feel sorry for me. Im the one whose been waiting for him. Shane even came up with this idea... Maybe this is all just a joke.

Waiter: Ummm

Joey: Check please...

Waiter: You never ordered anything so, I mean, there's nothing to pay for.

Joey: Oh, right. Well, bye.

Waiter: Did you get stood up or something?

Joey: I - I uh... I guess I did. I can't believe I believed him...

Waiter: Have a nice night.

Before saying another word, I bolted out of the restaurant and into Satsuki. I slammed my car door and abruptly put on my seat belt. I sat in silence and confusion when I grabbed my phone out of my pocket. Well, it's 7:11pm and Shane hasn't tried to even talk to me. I was stood up! I can't believe this. Maybe this isn't going to work out between us. I texted him again.

Joey: Shane, I waited so long for you and you never even showed up. I don't know if this is gonna work out anymore, im just so confused. Its okay, u can stay with Lisa. </3 Why would you stand me up like this? I thot u liked me. Don't u like me? What happened?

I was about to drive away when I noticed a couple walking into Republique. I squinted hard as I saw them laughing as they came out of their car. Oh. My. Gosh.... Are you kidding me? He came here? With someone else? It's Shane!!! >:( And Lisa.......
