Star Wars: Mobius Rising

Prologue

In the cave, he was pacing. His friend was running late. Had he done this mission, he'd have been done almost three hours ago. He was about to go running after him when he came into the cave, propelled by his namesake.

"So, Tails," he said, "What did they say?"

"The Babylon Rogues aren't with us," Tails replied, "They said that this fight was between us and Eggman."

They both sighed in disappointment.

"Sonic," Tails said, "we don't know how far Eggman has even gotten on this project. For all we know, he could just barely be reaching the Death Egg."

"That still doesn't mean that he could have reached beyond," said a lower more, gruff voice, "For all we know, he might have tapped into communications of other planets. We don't have that much time to risk."

"Shadow," Sonic replied, "be reasonable. If Eggman did contact anyone, why would they help him?"

"Why would they fight him?"

"I guess that's a fair point. Yet, I still don't think that he has us beaten. I don't even think that he is anywhere close to beating us."

A pillar of flames randomly errupted in the middle of the cave. Once the fire died down, there was a light purple being standing there.

"Blaze," Sonic said, "What are you doing here?"

"I have my reasons," she said, "but to put it simply, something has happened."

"The Sol Emeralds?"

"No those are guarded around the clock by some of my most elite guards."

"Then what is it?"

"An interdimensional rift. Something is soon to happen that will affect all realities. I don't know what, but it starts in your dimension. It also has something to do with Eggman."

"Well, then... Welcome aboard."

As soon as Blaze exited the cave, a bright turquoise portal appeared in the middle of the group. Out of it, red lasers flew. Not in balls either, like the badniks often shot, in lines. Finally out of the portal stumbled a light gray being with a scorch mark on its back.

"Silver?" Sonic asked, "What happened? Is the future in trouble again?"

Silver just stood there panting. "Eggman..." he finally said, "Alliance... Something... Soon... Empire... Coming..."

"What?" Shadow asked, "Coherently, Silver! What happened in the future?"

Silver finally seemingly caught his breath. He looked at them and said, "Find the Rebel Alliance." Before he passed out.

Tails came over to inspect him. The scorch mark wasn't deadly, if anything it was probably a bad burn at worst.

"Whatever shot him," Tails assessed, "It was a bad shot. Not as bad as the badniks, but still a terrible shot."

Tails carried him deeper into the cave leaving Shadow and Sonic to ponder what Silver meant.

"The Eggman Empire is coming with an alliance sometime soon?" Shadow asked, "Is that what he meant?"

"I don't know," Sonic replied, "Wouldn't he have just said 'Eggman won' if that was the case? And what did he mean by 'find the Rebel Alliance'?"

"I have no clue."
