*Author's Note*
Around 2010, I wrote this story for one of my friends Alex. The version you have just read for Don't Go in the Attic has been redone to add more detail and length to the story. This is the original from 2010. Hope you enjoy! 😄
Alex was a young girl and a great babysitter. Although, Alex was having a hard time getting a job beause kids in the area were slowly disappearing

After a few months of waiting, Alex finally got hired for an overnight job. That Saturday, Alex would be looking after two little kids. When Saturday came, Alex got ready to babysit the kids. The house was only a few blocks away so she decided to walk. The walk was slightly dim, due to the sunset but Alex could still see the several missing posters hung up for a missing boy and girl. When Alex arrived she was welcomed by young parents. "The kids lie a lot and there is a note of rules on the kitchen counter," said the woman. Then the parents left. Soon after the couple left, the kids came downstairs. Alex introduced herself. "My name is Megan and this is Riley, I'm seven, he's five," Megan explained. Alex thought she had seen these kids before. "Maybe at the park," Alex thought. The kids also looked very sad. On the counter the parents left a note. At the top it had basic rules for the kids, at the bottom in big red letters it read: DON'T GO IN THE ATTIC
Alex was surprised. How would she reach the attic? Most attic doors are on the ceiling. But when Alex walked upstairs she realized the attic door was like any other door in the house but it had a sign hanging from the door knob: Do Not Entre Attic! As much as Alex wanted to, she didn't peek in. As away she heard Megan and Riley playing in their room. Then she heard a bang. Alex went in to see what happened. When she walked in she saw a hole in the ceiling and Megan and Riley. “We were playing soccer and the ball went through the ceiling,” Riley said. Alex looked up the hole it had made. They decided to watch TV instead (Alex would explain to the parents). But when they were leaving the room they heard a thud. Alex turned around to see what fell. It was the ball only it had been deflated! The ball couldn’t have been deflated at first or it wouldn’t have made the hole. When Alex went to pick up the ball it wasn’t just deflated, it had a reasonably big hole in it! “What what’s up there?” Alex asked. The kids didn’t know. They decided not to worry; the ball probably popped. So they all went downstairs to play a board game.
As it got later, the kids got tired but they didn’t want to go to bed. So Alex told them to put their PJs on. She waited and waited. Finally Alex decided to check on them “Megan, Riley!” She called them from the bottom of the stairs. No answer. So she called again “Megan, Riley!” She was relieved to hear the sound of footsteps coming down the top flight of stairs. But when they reached the landing between the top and bottom flight of stairs she couldn’t see them. She heard whatever these things were bounce off the wall and saw them speeding super fast down the bottom stairs. Alex couldn’t tell what these things were until they landed on either side of her. They were Megan and Riley’s heads. Alex tried to scream without puking. “What was going on?” Alex followed the trail of blood of both flights of stairs until it reached the kids room. The kids’ headless bodies were lying on their beds with the pillows soaked in blood. There was also a bloody man holding a butchers knife covered in blood. The man was crouched over one of the beds. He looked up and saw Alex staring at him. “I’m glad you came for dinner,” the man said as he cut off the body’s arm and started chewing on it. The man approached Alex with the knife in the air. Alex ran downstairs. As she ran downstairs the parents came home. Alex bumped into them and sports bag they were carrying fell. About a dozen arms and legs fell out. Then Alex realized Megan and Riley for the missing kids she had seen on the way here on the posters! These people weren’t parents they were kidnappers/serial killers. Then the other man came down “Oh look you brought a feast,“ he said. Alex was blocked from leaving. “Now that you seen this you will never leave, not that you were ever going to,” said the woman. The man blocked the stairs. Alex ran through the kitchen and family room. The men and woman chased after her. Alex ran in circles on the first floor then ran upstairs. There was no place to hide but the attic. She opened the attic door and ran up the stairs to get to the attic. It was dark and smelled funny. When she reached the top she found out why it smelled bad. There was a huge pile of headless kids in one corner, on the shelves were their heads and a desk with a light on it had pictures of all the kids in the neighbourhood. Half of those pictures had red x's on them. Then Alex heard the sound of the attic door open again. She knew the murderers were heading for the attic. Alex tried to fit through the whole but she was too big. So she stomped and stomped until the whole gave in and broke. Alex fell through just in time. Alex ran downstairs, at the door and ran home. As soon as she got there she called the police.
The next day in the paper millions of parents found out where their children went. The news showed a picture of the people they had arrested. It showed the woman and her husband. As for the other man, no one knows where he is so just to be sure… Don't go in the attic.
